Hi guys myself and a mate are building a zj ATM and are looking at swapping over the transfer case from full time 4wd back to part time 4wd Q is what case do you guy use over there
It's a 4ltr
We have only the tj 231 or Xj 242 to pick from down under

As long as the 242 is from a 4 liter, you can use it. I've been told the V8 unit has a different input shaft spline count. Don't quote me on that, I'm just passing on hearsay.

The TJ unit does have a lower ratio in low range, however. Check the input shafts of both of them to see if they are the same.

Some more info on the grand it's a build date 96 4ltr with the 249 transfer zj/zg down under we only got them from 96 to 99
What we have done up till now 3" lift 32" MUDs swapping over the cv axles to Xj Uni axle front Xj drive shaft with yoke
