Default Which type of fan? 2004 4.7L

So my Jeep ('04 4.7L) has been running a bit hot at idle but fine at highway speeds. Thinking it might be something wrong with the cooling fan. Looking online it looks like the '04 4.7L is supposed to have a clutch driven hydraulic fan, but mine only has an electric fan. Is this correct? Seems to only run at one speed regardless of engine temp.

So looking at it some more it looks like I do have a hydraulic fan that runs off the power steering pump. Still seems like it only has one speed though.

Is your 4.7 an HO or std. model.

We always went with a Ford Taurus fan pretty powerful. I have a clutch fan plus electric on a toggle switch. I only need it when wheeling

So it appears I just have the hydraulic fan that runs off of the power steering pump. I guess the question is when should it kick into a higher speed? It appears to be running at the same speed on a cold engine or when it's at full operating temp.

IF it does have a higher speed, it should kick in around 215*-220*. Supposedly that's controlled by a solenoid on the supply hose. IDK for sure because I've never worked on one, so this is just what I've been told.
