I'm looking for the max tire size I can put on my 1999 Grand cherokee laredo 4.7L without any lift and of course no rubbing. The stock tires are 225/75/16 and they look small. It seems I could go a few sizes larger without any problems. Any suggestions?

I've got 245x70x16's on my '04 with no problem. Granted, they're not much taller but they are wider.

the biggest i would dare to go on a stock grand cherokee would be a 31x10.50r16 if that. if you get 1.5" leveling kit you should be able to tuck those tires easily though and it looks good! =)

245/75/16(assuming you have stock rims) which is roughly 30.5x9.5. Any bigger and you will likely have some rubbing.

If you want to be safe take ol"blues advice and run 245/70/16s' which are about a 29.5x9.5

They are stock wheels 16x7, and the width is really what I"m looking for. I'll look into the 245's Thanks

Just wanted to update you guys. I paid $300 TOTAL for a set of 245/65/17 goodyear fortera on a set of 2004 17 inch Grand Cherokee wheels and they look awesome! 99 JGCL with a 16 inch wheel you can easily run 245/75. it will add some width and fill out the fenderwell more. That's what I had and they look like training wheels. you won't be disappointed if you go with the 245's
