Running boards on a 2000 WJ fitting question
Got hold of a set of aluminium running boards for my 2000 WJ but there are no bolt holes in the chassis to fix the brackets to.
The brackets are supposed to fix to box sections so my question is how as if I were to drill some holes there is no way to get a nut on the end of the bolt.

There are things called Rivnuts used in aircraft. you drill a hole, put this thing in, and set it with a bolt with a nut on it. The insert expands in the back to hold it in place. The only place I've actually seen them is in aircraft, but I'll bet they are used other places.
Try Google, I just did and they are plentiful.

Good call - why didn't I think of that !
I've used these fixings on my XR4i to fit the bodykit & rear spoiler.
Do you think M8 bolts should be strong enough or should I go for M10 ?

I think it depends if you plan on actually standing on them or not. Small children would be okay with M8s, but adults would need M10s.
