Replacing CV Front Shafts
I was out changing the oil today in my wifes WJ when I noticed both boots for the front shafts completely in 2!! I had an altima that a front shaft locked up on me and put me into a spin then into a field and I can't risk this with my wife and son. I was just wondering if anyone had done this replacement or had any advice. I did it on the altima and it actually wasn't too awful bad to do. Any advice would be appreciated!!

If there is plenty of grease inside and no debris, you might be able to just replace the boots. If not, replacing the CV is just like replacing any other axle. If your not comfortable getting into the differential I'd suggest taking it to a shop.

I did it later that night. I didn't have to get into the differential. It was a real simple project that only took about 2 hours from start to finish and cost about 200 bucks by the time I bought the big axle nut socket. All the work was done from right out at the hub!!
