Time for a new steering gearbox.

You can upgrade to a Durango steering gear since you have to replace yours anyway. This will show/tell how. >->http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/d...ughts-1191132/

Mine is leaking a litle to, and its looks like yours (dirty on the outside). But i think its coming from the rubber on the line from the reservoir. If you look at the line to the pump that got a rubber hose on it, is the hose in good condition, is it possible to leak from that hose if its crack in it or is that rubber hose only a protection hose of something, since its not attach securely on one side?

Yea mine is no doubt the steering box, the hoses and lines are all new, I have cleaned it off several times and after I started it and moved the steering wheel around I saw a leak climbed under and it was coming from right about the pitman arm bolt I thought it might have been coming from above but no such luck

did you say you replaced the pump or the box already. if you replaced the box make sure you dont have a warrenty or anything...and im pretty sure they make a seal kit to fix it if. if it is leaking from the output shaft to the pitman arm

Ok so I started removing the powersteering box tonight and all was going good and I was excited bc I was only 30 minutes in.. Then I got to the pitman arm I put my puller on and sure enough it bent the ***** out of it so much that I heated the puller up to try and Bend it back... Any tips on removal??? I just soaked it with PB and I'm going to let it sit over night head to the local parts store and exchange the puller, I can't believe it bent it up.... Btw everything on the jeep is stock

Use your puller to put some tension on the arm and then put some heat on the arm with a torch, it should come off once the arm expands from the heat. Just be caerful!
