On your '96 5.2 V8 it should be on the rear of the throttle body, with the wiring connector coming out of the drivers side.

Thanks. I ended up going to the dealer and having them pull th part for me so I can see what it looks like (and how much it costs) lol. I hate how unhelpful the dealership is. They wont tell you anything unless you're buying anything. It was a simple question, where is the IAC, and is it rotory or spring type? "Oh I don't know we'd have to diagnose it and go from there...." No, you don't have to diagnose anything...where is the IAC!? lol

Anyways, yah I found it thanks, next time it acts up I'm going to give a few taps and see if it makes the idle jump, then I know for sure thats wat it is. $105 part at the Jeep dealership.

A good parts counter person is worth their weight in gold. They're sometimes hard to find too.

Luckily, I've found a great parts dept. & dealer in both Tenn & Mich, so I can get any needed parts or have my vehicle serviced while we're at either location.

Unless I can talk to a tech I'm usually more knowledgable than the person at the dealer :/
I do all my own services but when it comes to stuff that may too difficult at home or take too long at the shop in the little time I have to work on personal cars, I take it to 4wheelparts. They always seem to be on the same level as me or usually one step ahead.

Dealerships are in business to make $$ so they want to get you in the door. Once in the door, you are at their mercy.

When I took my 97 ZJ to the dealer about my rear axle whine, they put it up on the lift and the tech walked back over to me and said "My advise to you is not to put any more money into this vehicle because of it's condition". WTF! My response was "put it back down!" They didn't charge me for lift time and I got the F out of there. I drove it for another 2 years!

When I bought the "97 ZJ I had, the ABS light was on so I took it to my dealer to have it looked at. The tech told me it was the ABS pump, and it would cost over $200 for the pump + labor through the dealer, but if I got the pump he'd do it after hours, either at his house or mine.
That's why I stick with my dealers.

I'm posting this hear to remind me, sorry I'm at work and this is the easiest way to do this on my iPad.

http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1998/18-48-98/18-48-98-v8.htm

It's how to fix a crossfire/misfire issue on the 5.2 by rerouting the wires...
