Default No start, no spark, need help

I have 98 jeep grand cheerokee lerado 4.0, I pulled up to store and bought case of beer. I walked out and jeep wouldn't start. I have replaced distrubutor cap, ignition coil, crackshaft sensor. I unhooked computer to reset (no change). Still no spark. Everything else works. No warning or check engine lights. I replaced all fuses and relays also. Can't afford to take to mechanic or anything. Can anyone tell me what else could cause it to not have a spark. Oh and spark plugs are new.

Try the cam sensor, it's right under the distributor cap.

Okay will get a cam sensor and put on tomorrow. One other question, if a crackshaft sensor is bad. Once u unhook it and put it back in. If the sensor is bad will jeep start and run for like a minute then shut off again? Or should I get a new one?

If the crank sensor is totally shot unplugging it and reconnecting it will have no effect. If you did that and it ran for a minute or so I'd look at the wiring harness for melted insulation where it might be shorting to ground or the plugs at the PCM which are a common problem. Give the plugs on the PCM a wiggle and maybe even try tapping on the PCM while someone cranks it and see if she fires up. The plug on the right carries the pulse to trigger the ignition coil.

I wouldn't buy any parts until you confirm they are bad. Especially if you can't afford a mechanic and your on a budget.

Seems like replacing all those other parts was a waste since they didnt solve your issue. Thats all money that could have been saved.

I ended up buyin a pcm, and all ignition parts including plugs and all. Still no start. If the fuel pump don't wrk will it disable a spark for safety reasons?

I haven't paid over 20 bucks for any part since I have a hook up. The price for labor would cost more than what the jeep is worth since there is 270,000 miles. Right now I have a good tune up. So instead of decussing my budget, how bout we talk bout the problem at hand. Any more ideas anyone?

Are you using used parts?

No not using used parts. All either have lifetime warranty or at least 1 yr warranty. This is what I have bought. Cam sensor, rotor, distrubutor cap. Spark plugs( ones with no gap) spark plug wires, crackshaft sensor ignition coil, all new fuses, and relays. Also pcm. Every part has came from advance auto. Any idea why there is no spark? Cranks over, no chech engine lights are on, and everything in jeep works. I unhooked battery for bout 15 mins. What am I over looking?

Have you checked to see if you have juice going to the ignition coil?

You mentioned what if the fuel pump isn't working would that cause a no spark condition. Is the fuel pump not working?
A bad ASD relay or corroded socket could make for no spark and fuel condition.

All parts are new with min. 1 yr warranty. Most are lifetime warranty.
