Jeep wont idle?
Wut it du homies...
I'm trying to fix my gf's jeep and the ****er wont idle. About a year ago the same thing happened and her mechanic said that the IAC went, they replaced it and everything was fine. Since then I've had to put two more IAC motors in it because every few months or so it decided that it doesn't want to start unless you have your foot on the gas.
What's odd is that a few days ago the same thing happened but this time when I put the new IAC in it wont work. The car will start fine as long as I have my foot on the gas and it drives fine as well yet when I come to a stop or if I take my foot off of the gas it stalls. We've tried cleaning the port on the throttle body where the IAC sits. We've tried cleaning the old motor and its connections with some electrical cleaner to see if maybe there was some sort of gay thing that was causing an interruption in the current.
Idea's that we're thinking of are....
-an issue with the plug, i.e. theres an abrasion or something wrong with the harness that controls the unit.
-an ecu failure, in that its just ****ed 6 ways from the weekend
-throttle position sensor has failed as well
-throttle body is completely clogged or just ****ed and wont let the IAC do its job.
Any suggestions?
