No spark and no injector pulse
1995 GC
I6 4.0
Auto
My father-in-law removed the transmission and rebuilt it. In the process of removing it he cut the crank position sensor.
We replaced the sensor with a new one. Transmission back in. We are still not getting fire or injector pulse. Starter works, battery is fine.
We've checked:
2 new Crank position sensors in the bell housing.
Swapped out the asd relay
We are only getting .18 volts going to the coil .30 when cranking
Nothing from the coil to the spark plugs.
Fuel pump is working
No check engine light
Flywheel is fine not bent
Also there is a red light on the driver side on the dash right under the window. It only has the stock keyless entry. It only comes on when the key is left on.
We believe its the camshaft position sensor under the distributor or the ecu.
What do you think?
Thanks

Is it possible that the theft deterrent system is not allowing it to start? The red light is the light that shows the alarm is on. Try locking and unlocking the door several times with the remote...

did not think of that, I think you can also reset it by turning the door look with the key three times or something like that. If you pulled the battery connection off it will default to theft mode i think.

I tried all kinds of things today to shut off the theft mode. Unlocking from the inside 3+ times, key unlock 3+ times nothing.
I also swapped out the Hall effect sensor under the distributor and nothing.
My last thing would be the pcm. I'm actually thinking about tell him to send it in this may be the one car that stumps me.

My alarm on my old Ckerokee Limited had to be disarmed by locking and unlocking the driver door two times. Drove me crazy till I figured it out

not sure, it comes with a MOPAR crank sensor and the FSM for at least 03 is pretty specific about using it to install the sensor to prevent damage tothe sensor.

the CPS for the ZJ don't have a paper spacer. I had to replace mine twice (once for dying and once from cutting the wire{opps})....

Did you guys cut the wire that goes to the neutral safety switch on the trans? Mine broke and that kept mine from starting....('94 4.0L)

The starter works. So I know that safety switch is alright.
As for the sensor spacer I replaced many and never had a problem like this. Most of the time I always drop it in and lift it up slightly and tighten it down just to make sure. This sensor I have done the same with no change. The sensor is not being hit. Not a scratch on it. This is number three with the gasket installed.
I'm pretty sure it's the computer. Does anyone have an extra. Can't seem to find one at a reasonable price close.
