What transfercase do you have and are the front wheels off the ground when you spin the driveshaft?

What year do you have? If it has the vacuum disconnect you will be able to turn the front shaft with the wheels not spinning.

I don't mean to be a nudge, but didn't we JUST have this discussion within the past couple of days? I seem to remember a long explanation of gear paths and what's connected when. Excuse me, but I guess I'm just getting tired.
BTW, he posted it as a 2000 Grand Cherokee with a 4.6L. (That's right, a 4.6)
