Jeep Grand Cherokee Stalling HELP ME PLEASE
I recently picked up a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 with 140,00m miles for my little sister as her first car. After owning the vehicle for about a month we ran through some problems which I thought were normal ie. bad battery, starter, lights etc. After these basic repairs it started stalling while she was driving and I became worried because she is a new driver, and I want her to be safe. What I have done since then is as follows:
-New Battery
-New Starter
-New MOPAR Crank Sensor
-New MOPAR Cam Sensor
-New Belt
-New Fuel Filter
With That being said, the damn thing is still stalling while driving. There isn't a check engine light on at all. However, before replacing the fuel filter she would have to wait 10-30mins before it restarted. it stalled today after the new fuel filter and fired right back up. When turning on the ignition you can hear the fuel pump prime, and I also checked the fuel pump relay.
With all this being said, can anyone help me out?

I would also like some suggestions. I just changed my fuel filter on my 92' Cherokee and it sounds like it wants to stall after you drive for a bit, then goes away. The old filter was destroyed, it had been on there for at least 35000 miles.

Sounds like each of you are experiencing TPS and/or IAC problems. Have you cleaned your throttle-body and IAC lately? If you choose to proceed with cleaning of the IAC then be careful, read all about the pitfalls of mishandling the IAC first. A little knowledge on these things can save you some dollars.

Other than Cherryokee's idea, I had similar issues on my old LS1. i What I ended up having was the fuel supply line in tank had split shortly above the pump. Replaced factory hose with a quality fuel injection hose and it was fine. A simple fuel pressure gauge on the rail will let you know if it's fuel supply issue or not. Good luck and will check back.

My wife had a similar problem as you described in our 2003 WJ, turned out to be the throttle position sensor. If you find that's the problem, I recommend you replace with a Mopar sensor, yes aftermarket sensors are cheaper, but I don't have a lot of trust in them. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your guys' help but today it wont even turn over. The list of things that I have checked/done are as follows:
- New Battery
- New Starter
- Checked the grounds from battery and PCM
- Check ASD relay its good
- Checked Battery it passed
- Checked Alternator it passed
- Checked the starter relay its good
The only way it starts is if you try and jump start it as if the battery was dead. Even then I have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it from shutting off. No check engine light.

I've heard that it could also be a PCM issue. The ZJs are prone to having issues with the soldering breaking around the connections. I know yours isn't a ZJ but it could be the same problem. Seems to be an easy fix if you electrically inclined. Open up the PCM and check the connectors with a tester. Resolder the connections and should fix the problem if that is what it is. There are a few Youtube videos on it.

It's not likely the PCM if you can jump start it. Sound like you are in a hurry. Trial and error works, but it;s not fast. You have already spent a good sum of money, needlessly. It may be best to pay a technician an hours labor to tell you what it is.

I know it sounds dumb but its very cheap and very easy. I had this same issue. After many parts swapped and much money spent my grandfather told me that ECT sensor (Engine coolant temp) could cause the same issue. So after putting him off for a couple of months I headed his advice. 20,000 miles have not had the issue. I still have not told him that fixed my issue... Not very probable, but still possible.
