2011 Grand Cherokee Clunk
Noise from front when shifting into drive/reverse from neutral, or between drive/reverse. Looking underneath I see some movement of the transaxle (if that what it is called) when doing the same. Difficult to tell exactly where noise is coming from.
Appx 97K miles.
Any known failures given age and symptoms?
Cheers!

Engine mounts or transmission mounts might be culprits. I just narrowed down a metallic clang in the front end of my '04 WJ Overland to the pair of ball joints located above and below the wheel bub, that are pressure-fitted into the pair of flanges that terminate the front axle. Removing the old ball joints needs a "C" Clamp ball-joint extractor, but is well within the abilities of a driveway mechanic. Quite a few youtube videos describe the hub ball-joint replacement procedure.
