engine stops while driving?

engine stops while driving?
hello everyone, a newbie here. My 2000 grand cherokee's engine will just quit while driving. It runs smooth,idles ok. Just restart and go. But sometimes the engine just quits, going down the road,,,, any ideas. thank you jeff
