rear lamp failer
Ok so I'm getting a rear lamp failure on my 95 zj and I just changed one of them lastnight. The warning just came on again and I checked and they are both working. What now?

I did some reading and I guess there's 3 lights in the hatch brake light so I'm going to look at that tomorrow. Lol blue I love how your the only one helping me! I appreciate it. The zjs a lil bit different from the xj.

These rear lights are a pain.... What is the bulb # that is needed? Is it the 21 or the 22? The one I am driving has 22's in the 3rd tail light, no message with lights off, but when I turn on the lights, then the message comes on, rear light failure...

Thanks everyone.... This is not my thread of course.... I removed the 2 high mount brake light bulbs, which were 922 and I replaced them with the 921.... This solved my issues, my brake light failure is clear, both with lights on and lights off...

Wow I thought I was the only guy ignoring the warning! Everything was working fine one day and blam then it showed. I can drive all day but as soon as I use the brakes the warning pops up, all bulbs are good, so WTH? Anyone else have/reslve this issue? Just started a couple weeks back.

When I had the warning on my ZJ, I had just bought it and the lady only drove it winter in upper Michigan and got in a fender bender. I beleive that the tail light got busted and some of the wires got cut. Whoever "fixed" it used what looked like athletic tape instead of electrical tape. So the lady kept on driving it in winter and salt got in there and croaded the wires through so I also ended up changing the bulbs and sections of wire.
