The only possible sore spot is the 0331 head. The ones on the 99-01 4.0s tend to crack when you least expect it. Most seem to crack around 125K. mine lasted until 175K. Watch for coolant in the oil. Clearwater Cylinder Heads makes an HD head for $455 complete with valves and a 5 year warranty.
Everything else is normal jeep stuff that tends to wear out. Service the trans fluid at intervals and don't abuse it. JMHO, but your choice of a 4.0 is much better than a 4.7.

thanks Dave, i was definitely considering the trans filter kit, all the coolant is clean and green, i'm very excited to find this truck, its in perfect florida rust free shape. the only sore spot is the driver seat, it has broken loose from the power slider, i have it zipp tied together till i get a spare from a junkyard lol

Funny, the driver's seat seems to be a problem with larger people because of it's design, in that the thigh bolsters are higher than the rest of the seat. When you get in and out, you compress this bolster a lot and it either breaks down the cushion or adds torque to the seat and breaks the studs holding it to the rails. I've got a 97 XJ seat in mine until I find a nice pair of grey fabric flat ZJ seats. I'm a short fat guy and the bolsters were causing my legs to cramp up on long drives. AFAIK, all jeep seats are mounted to their rail systems with 4 nuts on studs regardless of whither or not they are power or manual. Yours probably pulled the nuts thru the sheet metal of the bottom of the seat itself.

my drivers seat had 3 out 4 attachment points broken on it. i got the seat out, the slide and motors out. the seat itself has one hole that broke apart, gonna have to get my buddy to weld it for me. its seems like really thin metal, too.

Have him weld a washer where the bolt should be. that will be an easy fix and make it stronger. Just make sure it's in the right place.

Hey guys, I'm back. I replaced the hub assembly and got rid of the wobble, now I need to figure out what's the difference between the 4.7 and the 4.7ho? And how do I know which one I have? Thanks.

Also, I had an issue with over heating. I changed the thermostat and radiator, but it still runs hot if I drive it more than about 2 miles. Any suggestions?

It's a 4.7. The HO didn't come out until 2002. I would suspect the cooling fan isn't working or the water pump impeller is not there. Could be the radiator is plugged.
