Default 96 ZJ oversized tires question

What is the largest tire size I can run on my ZJ without needing a lift or suspension changes? I have some Goodyear Wrangler 245/75/r16's that I want to put on it. Also will running a much larger size damage the AWD axles and t-case?

I dont know what those 245s measure, but probably 31s with no lift will be the limit. Bigger tires wont hurt the rest of the drive train, but if your front wheel bearings are near their end of life, you might consider some new Timkens.

I run 31s on my '93 Grand Cherokee with no lift. I get a little scrub in the front when I back up in either direction at certain angles. It just barely touches the bumper cover.
