94 g.cherokee laredo PCM repair
New Guy. Need help on PCM repair. Have it removed from case but unlike later units this ps board is totally enclosed in gel. I want to repair solder the connectors to the board but want to do as little damage as possible to the gel assuming that is possible. Any input will be appreciated. :-)

You are going to have to find an electronics guru for this unless you can find a place to get the gel. The gel is there as a shock absorber and heat sink. Because it's not there in later models, it might not even be necessary.
I once took apart a computer from an early '80's GM car. It had 2 circuit boards face-to-face with all the components in between. The only way to get at it was to unsolder all the connections on the edge strips. I gave it up as a lost cause. That one also had a "prom" factory programed for that particular model and options.
