Default tranny problem

hi all new here..i have a tranny question for you guys it kinda puzzle me a little here it goes...i have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Sport Utility 4D 4x4 5.2L v8 (the 4x4 is all time 4 wheel drive) when it shift from 1st to 2nd it glides into 2nd and the more the gas peddle is down to the floor the longer it glides into 2nd. the rest of the gears like 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th shifts perfect (goes right into gear) iv changed the fluid & filter. the fluid i used was atf+4 wich is what it calles for. could it be that the bands need adjusting.iv checked for codes and there are none what do you think. let me know. thank you

Try buying some transmission fix fluid from Lucas Oil (at an auto parts store, if they don't have it, they'll order it for you and have it within a few days for pickup) and put it in the transmission fluid. I did that to my '94 GC 318 when it was slipping and it fixed it (:

You have a seal for the 2nd gear clutch pack that is leaking. You could try some sort of snake oil, but it won't last forever.

I had a seal leak on my ZJ, I'd recommend the Lucas Oil stuff, it worked for me. (:

Glad I could be of assistance. superfast 318, please let me know if I can be of any further assistance. I wish you luck (:
