2001 grand charokee door sensor?
my 2001 grand charokee is saying driver door open even when I close the door which then does not allow me to roll up or down the windows. I have replaced the door actuator but that didn't work, if anybody has an idea what I can do next or what is causing the problem I would appreciate the help.

You should be able to roll up and down the windows whether your door is open or closed, it has absolutely nothing to do with the door... it could be the switch panel if all of the windows don't go up or down, or one of the motors or individual switches on one of the doors or windows is bad if only one of the windows doesn't go up or down.
The EVIC (screen in the headliner) may also have a bad sensor. I know in the 1993-1998 Grand Cherokee ZJ's (in the lower dashboard instead of the headliner like in the newer Jeeps) they are known to go bad and cause false warnings to appear on the screen, my '94 ZJ had this issue. One of the sensors could also be bad in the door sensing if it is open or closed, a wire in the door wiring harness could be pinched or shorted out, or something like that. Check the boot with the wiring harnesses in it behind the door. If any wires are pinched, that's likely the problem.

When you say you replaced the door actuator, what exactly did you replace? I haven't had my FRONT doors open inside, but my REAR doors gave me a problem with not latching and my hatch did the same. The hatch latches have micro-switches on them that don't close unless the latch latches. My rear doors have lock solenoids and switches built into the latch mechanisms and are serviced as one piece. BUT as you say, the windows won't work with the door closed so that clues me to the wiring in the flexible boot in the hinge area.
