I've owned a 93' jeep cherokee for a few years now but due to my budget i havent put any work into. But now that i do idk where to start or even if its worth the time. Theres nothing wrong with the aesthetics and it runs great. Its a 4 cyl, 2.5 L, manual 5 speed. 2 wd. I want to make it 4wd and idk if swapping engines is a good idea. I'd like to use it for off road fun. Any suggestions would be great. Thx in advance

If it were me, I would try to sell the 2wd for as much as I could and then try to find a 4wd version. I am not sure of the costs involved in a 4wd conversion. You may be able to grab the front drivetrain off a 4wd cherokee from a salvage yard, then swap in a 4.0, trans, transfer case, and drive shafts???? Could be a lot of work, but if you could get the parts for cheap and put in the wrench time, I think it could be done.
