I wanted to get our 96 Cherokee completed before I started on the 97, But the AC Evaporator went out, and I really like AC. So the Lift on the 96 will have to wait another week or so. Here is some picture progress, if anybody has dash questions I might be able to help, I would much rather work on engines and such!

I had everything back togather but the gauge cluster wasn't working so I've had to go back in to see what's up.

Wow. nice job getting all that out of there!

I guess i could ask a simple question. I converted my 99 XJ to 4wd. the trans and transfercase both came from a 99. Any idea what i would have to go through to get the dash lights to work for 4wd?

Yeah x2 on the removal of all that stuff. And as for the question in my 94 when I swapped out the cluster the one I got was from a 2wd cherokee and mine is 4x4 but it was just a matter of swapping in the bulbs all the wiring was already there. Dont know if it is the same on yours though. Hope that helps.

I can relate - am doing a similar job to my '96, except I'm adding A/C to a vehicle that never had it. I've got the condenser and evapourator in, as well as all the lines and hoses. Now it's just a matter of installing the compressor, wiring it all up, and charging it up

I've been putting this off but it's been getting too hot in Texas. Seeing all that laying out on the floor and looking at all those wires though......scares me a lot!

Not so sure about that, trust me it all had to come out to get to the inner dash that runs from one side to the other. Everything in the picture is in front of the inner dash, let me know of a different way, I would love to save time on the next one!
