Thanks for the props. The fenders are the Bushwacker flat flares and I think they ran about $450.00 for the set which is a lot of cash to drop on fenders. I tried to fab some flat fenders but they looked like crap so I sacked up and pulled the trigger on the bushwackers. Overall I like the look of the fenders but with 35's I could use more room. Next time I think I will try Icland Offroad fender flares.

Some pics with stock fenders, cut fenders and flat fenders.

Trail Fix! I headed to Hungary Vally Off Hwy Vehicle area just north of Los Angeles to meet up with two budies that wanted to take their Toyota FJ and Grand Cherokee offroad. No more than 2 miles in the FJ blew a front Bilstein strut. 60 miles round trip to the parts store and a few hours later we got the FJ back on the road. This is the 3rd FJ in the last 4 years that I have replaced a strut on while on the trail.

How does one even break a Bilstein!?! Time for a "Toyota Recovery Vehicle" sticker.

Easy, I have seen this happen 3 times on my buddies FJs all with factory bilsteins and 2-3" coil spacer lifts which render the factory bumpstops usless. When they take a big hit the front strut bottoms out taking all of the load. This normally doesn't hapen to the stock suspention or aftermarket suspention that is bumpstoped properly.

These are the other 2 Toy's that blew struts on the trail. It's hard to see but the pic below is us replacing a strut in the middle of the Mojavie desert on the grey FJ on the left... not fun.

Gents over the last few years you have helped guide me through my build. I need a little help picking the next mod... what's should I do next?

-Body armor for the rear quarter panel, this is my daily driver so I would like to keep it looking purity.

- One ton steering up grade.

- Upgraded drive shafts, my stock DS is in rough shape and is ready for retirement. What's DS do you recomend?

- Wild Card... tell me what I should do next!

Do you have the Zj tierod upgrade or just stock? I like the armor but the steering would be sweet to lol

I already have the ZJ tie rod upgrade. It's deffanitly stronger than stock but still a lite duty steering setup.
