Default slowmotion XJ build

I decided to call this build slowmotion, because it is going to take for ever...

Anyways, so this is what I started with, picked it up at a car auction for $300.

1991 xj, 2 door, 4.0HO, 5 speed, 4x4.

First things first, replacing the leaking slave cyl. Little did I know when I got this, its a internal slave. Great..

sorry no pics of the slave replacment. I wasnt planning on doing a build thread at the time.
Dropped the trans, and relised it has a new clutch. Bought a new slave from oriellys, got back home and relised it was missing a boot clamp and the throw out bearing was no good.... I was heated to say the least. return it to oriellys and order one at napa, all good to go after that.

Replaced the master cyl, I figured it was a good idea sense the rig had 206k miles.

thats all I did at that time, heres how the jeep looked.. couple wheeling pics from here in alaska

First trip out.

Next to go... the line from my master cyl to slave for the cutch burst, brake fluid on the exhaust = fire!!! no damage other then the clutch line.
I orderd an adaptor to my master cyl from advanced adaptors, a 60" SS braided line, and an adaptor to the slave hard line.
I was unable to remove the quick disconnect from the hardline while it was on the jeep, I had to cut the line then reflair it. After that everything threaded together without an issue.

Next, time for some tires/rims. removed the flairs too.

There was no way the rear tires would clear, so I trimmed the fenders.

Notice the negitive arch on those rear leafs? The rear sits roughly 3" lower then the front. I have another set on my parts xj, just have not gotten around to swapping them (this is my DD)

and this is how it currently sits, I'v been focusing on reg. maint. rather then mods (oil, filters, starter, battery & tags have been done in the past week)
So, this is how it sits.

I did pick up some new RE LCA's. Just need the rest of the lift now. lol The scratchs on the one LCA is from it floating around in my jeep out of the box.

Yep. I have a POS iphone3, and it has dirt on the inside of the lense. If it was a 4 id pull it apart and clean it, but I dont like removing the screen on the 3's so I deal with the black spots..

Just orderd some billet 2" coil spacers and 2" lift shackles. they should be in within a week.

Should I run my RE lca's with the 2" lift? or is it a waist of time with anything bellow 3"?

no probably not. it will push your axle forward and without the height to compensate for it it may not turn out well for you lol

Thats kind of what I was thinking. I guess I will keep my eye out for some v8 zj coils to get that extra inch for the front. I'm going to swap the rear leafs from my parts rig sense they arnt sacked, that + these shackles should get me about 4-5" higher in the rear then it currently sits due to the terrible condition my leafs are in.. When it sits on flat ground, I currently have about 1" of clearence between my axle tube and the stock bump stop.

I'm also picking up some used leafs next week that net around 4" of lift, but those will probably wait untell I order a SYE this summer when I work more.

Not much of an update, but I spent a couple hours cleaning up and painting rims. Just have to do the other side now..

$34.98 shipped, brand new. I thought that was a pretty good deal for these. Still waiting on my shackles to show up.

Also, I put my RE LCA's up agenst my stock LCA's, they are only about 1/8" longer C2C. Will they really make that much of a difference if I run them or not? Only reason I ask is because I want the added strangth, and the bushings on my stockers are pretty worn.

leafs that I was told are good for 4" of lift picked them up for $50. I probably wont use these untell this summer but at that price I figured I should get them before someone els does. Only brought one inside to get a picture, sense it was dark out.

Didnt, get around to swapping my rear windows, but I did finish my rims. 4 coats per rim, costed $4.32 total for paint for all 4. And I had enough paint left for my step bar things.

shackles still havnt shown up. soon as they show up I will get started on my huge 2" lift... lol

Take off the turd looking step bars, and you will gain 3 inches of clearance.

I'd use the RE Lcas. And I'd throw those packs that are supposed to be be good for 4 inches in just to check them while you have the stock ones out.

I do plan on removing them, but they are welded on like crazy.. I was worried about cutting into my uni-rails while trying to remove them.
