Ranger's ZAV Build

No, I don't lick fish.
Haven't a clue where its going. The heads not cracked... there is no coolant in the oil or vise versa. And reading the trouble shooting instructions on my AUX cooling fan I found out that the fan is set to turn on at 160* by the factory.
I really need to figure out which wire is the power for my A/C clutch. If I can figure that out I can get it turned on with the A/C then.
What I think might be happening though is that the temp is getting hot enough to evap the coolant from the over flow tank.
I also need to find some ideas of how to wire the AUX e-fan to the battery and a switch to turn it on.

Well the stock fan was set to that. but this is an aftermarket that I got from the auto parts store. I just went with what ever they had in stock

OOOHHHHHH I see now. Okay, yeah, that's a little too early for it to be kicking on. I'm not sure about how to do it myself, but I'm sure there's a writeup somewhere that someone figured out a way to adjust that.

Also I FINALLY fixed my overheating problem!! To get my Aux E-fan working I pulled the original out and put a new one in with the wiring harness. Then found out that the thermostat that was included with the wiring harness was bad so I bypassed it. Now the fan runs if I turn the ignition on.
Then after that still wasn't doing the trick I did one more High pressure coolant flush. I ended up getting SO much crud out of the cooling system.

This. Exactly this.
Dude.... put the factory fan controller back in and get a shroud for your mechanical fan. All you're doing at this point is creating parasitic drag with little benefit without the shroud. Your cooling system will operate much more efficiently if you use it the way it was designed. Also... if you're running anything but a 195* thermostat, replace it with a 195... it's what's recommended. Yes, even in Florida.

need to wait until another XJ makes it to the local salvage yard before I can put one in again. my original broke in half when I was replacing the fan clutch.
Already replaced with the 195*. and the factory controller is not compatible with my fan. The factory controller is also fried.

The shroud will go a long way towards making sure everything works the way it should.

Just got mine from rock auto $25 shipped...
The mechanical fan shroud makes a huge difference...with out it I was hovering at about 220 and with it I'm at 195....
Huge difference and I'm in miami...
Oh and if your going to wait at the Jy for a fan shroud...when mine broke I went to 4 different ones and they were all gone...either everyone else has the same problem or they didn't come with them....

Yeah, it's really worth it just to buy one brand new. With the heat under the hood making plastic MORE fragile, buying a used one is just like putting a cracker under the hood and hoping it doesn't break.

Welp looks like I have to pull my head today. started losing coolant by the gallon yesterday after driving through some high water. So today I checked my freeze plugs and they are fine. But I started the engine and notice white smoke in my exhaust.
