Project: Zombie Olive
Ok so I used the name zombie olive cause when I originally painted the jeep, my GF at the time (now my ex) was kidding around saying I should make a zombie assault vehicle. Anyways heres the story of the little $1000 XJ I got with a new engine.
It started as a colorado red 1990 XJ. PO was selling it cause he was moving to Canada so I bought it for $1000 with a brand new engine. However its only a RWD since he swapped out the 4wd trans for a 2wd one WTF? Well it was still a good buy and I needed a daily driver since my firebird was being put in the garage for a bit and the wrangler was a POS 2.5 that was blown.
Here is the day I got it. Poor unmolested cherokee.
Next I went about purchasing a roof rack for it and throwing a rear mount tire mount from a bronco on it for a full size spare. The ladder was already on it. (idk why anyone would put a ladder on it especially on the fiberglass but whatever I wasnt about to buy a new hatch so its staying, besides it looks kinda cool)
Next I decided to jsut rattle can the whole thing since I was gonna use it for light wheeling and the original paint was garbage and fading on the roof and hood badly.
Did the doorless mod for the front doors for the spring and summer.
Then I took off the stock fenders got tube fenders made, and then I lifted it 2inches.
Thats basically where it sits now. Some of the other things Ive done so far is put a new steering stabilizer on it, replaced a u-joint, added 2 sound bars, installed overhead console, new CD player, tinted windows, and a CB radio. I also have purchased a 4wd transmission, I just need to find time to install it since this is my daily driver.
Any comments are welcomed.

three things:
1. I love your jeep its super clean.
2. Would You happen to know what year Bronco that tire mount came from? I like the look of the swing out one compared to the ones that mount on the bumper.
3. How much paint and stuff would I be looking at to rattle can mine. In other words was it more then you expected cause mine was involved in a wreck and Im thinking about "saving" by rattle canning it.
But in all seriousness nice jeep and I cant wait to see you get further along on this project.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll get pics of the bronco tire carrier mounted tomorrow. The carrier came off a 1992 bronco I think. It was either a 1991 or 92. I used 8 cans of rustoleum italian olive and one can of flat white to paint it. I did the door jambs also since it was red and I drive doorless a lot so if you dont do the jambs itll be a bit less. I'll also get a couple pics of the interior tomorrow as I added a couple sound bars and reupholstered one of them in mossy oak.

Im gonna swap int he 4wd trans maybe during my spring break. Possibly a junkyard bastard pack later on down the road. I also plan on buying a front bumper from L&L fabrication so I can throw a winch on it. Otherwise the tires and lift size and paint will stay as is. I love it as a daily driver. I dont want to overdo it.
