Well.... I figured I would start a build thread since I have alot of work to do. I've owned my 98 Cherokee Classic for about 2 years (most of that time being a lawn ornament). I've gotten some help from people on here, so I figured it was about time to start showing some progress...Any suggestions will be gladly accepted, Criticism will be delt with.LOL. See anything I'm missing? Let me know... Tell me what I should do next... Money permitting, I'm broke so, it comes in spurts...
Lets start with how it looked when I first got it...
The Goodyear Wranglers were old and worn, so they had to go...
Making room for Kuhmos A/T 235/75/15
Next I added a trailer hitch...
I've also added factory fog lights...I still have to get a bulb for the one on the passengers side.
I added roof rack rails because the PO lost them...
Like the vinyl? A friend made it for me.(Thanks Phil)

A couple more additions that I couldn't fit on the first post...
A Grand Cherokee center console lid...
So the rear passengers (the kids) can have cup holders...
My rear view mirror,(soon to be replaced with something better)
Yes, My head liner is out... Cleaned the board, trying to find something I like to replace it with... Had something but it wouldn't stretch to conform around the rear speaker pods...
I just like this one

Got it running, just the wires on the back side of the fuel pump relay. Simple fix. Looks like I'm gonna have to do the flex plate thing this weekend. I have 3 days off and may have a place to do it. Anything else I should do while I have the trans. down? I was thinking this would be the best time to change the rear main seal (preventative measures), and the front seal on the trans. I also need to change the o-ring on the oil filter adapter. Also need the quick disconnects for the trans. cooler lines. Tired of seeing smoke every time I go somewhere.

She's FINALLY back on the road. Flexplate was completely shot. I'll post pics tomorrow. Took me almost an hour to wash all the mildew off from sitting for so long. Plus those Khumo tires with less than 500 miles, sat for too long and now she vibrates a little. I hope this will go away soon.
Now she has plenty of power. I was shocked the a/c still worked. I;ve been driving her most of the day since I got her from the shop. Very different than the Wifes 4wd Expedition.
More updates tomorrow.

To those of you with the 4.0L. If you hear a knocking noise, that's not a rod, this could be the problem. Don't l,et go as far as I did. This sent my timing way off. She had no power, and if she ran long the exhaust manifold would start glowing. Guess I'm lucky I didn't melt a piston.
