Update
Well after a couple of months of snow I have an update. Only to bring bad, but temporary news. On a trail to a remote woodlot I ripped my exhaust off on a rock. Then after parking it behind my garage for a couple of nights while I order parts some little S**T-head decided to slash one of my tires. I have not had time to get everything fixed so I have been using the truck for work. I should have a tire by next week. Going to be doing some serious mods in the next two months. Started fabbing up a new center console and designing a completely new set of rockers. More to come.

Rusty's offroad. They take some work to get to fit properly. Nothing to crazy just some sanding, drilling, cutting and fiberglassing. I'm going to rebuild the front end this spring so the fenders are not fully fitted yet. I talked to a Thule Rep and he is going to try and get me some permanent(drilled) roof rails. I have a whole log of upgrades planned and have them all categorized by cost, time and usefulness. Should be a cool build this year.

Update:
I was able to purchase a new tire and wheel. I'm turning the old one into a spare for the bumper. Also picked up some new exhaust. Had a couple of prescribed burns that the jeep came in handy for. No actions shots though.... Pulled all of the carpet up to the front seats. Finished fitting my fenders for now. Flushed the radiator. Removed the horns to relocate later. Did some painting and fixed a couple areas of sun damaged paint. Painted under the front fenders. Removed the roof rack for future Thule roof rails and rack.
New problems! I have a random misfire code and the xj is running rough. I replaced the distributor cap/rotor. This begins my next sub project. Making the jeep water crossing worthy. I'm going at it backwards. I'm doing all the breathers first then going to buy a snorkel. Sealed up the bottom end of my new distributor and base plate with RTV and made a silicon fitting to run a breather to a future air lock. Next will be running new axle breathers and battery box.

Real Update
I finally have a real update for everyone! I was able to finally install my rear fenders. I removed around 3-4 inches of material from the rear quarter panels. I then riveted on the new fenders on. Not to happy with the fenders they crack when I riveted some of them. I am going to send a complaint to Rustys and see what they do for me... Can't imagine what they would do if the tire catches them. Here is a picture anyway... I also trimmed the bottoms of my front fenders off to sit flush with the front end. I also removed the lower quarter panel below the top of the rear bumper.
On other news a new problem has arrived. On start up I need to pump the gas to get it started. Then I need to keep my foot on the gas for a couple minutes before it will idle without dying. I think it is the IAC valve. I bought a can of throttle body cleaner and ill see how it works.

On another note, does anyone have and ideas for cheap upgrades and mods? I want to save a little money for the next couple months. I need to reevaluate my upgrade list and add to it. My buddy just installed a powder coating booth in his shop so I have that to try out as well.
Let me know what you think I should do

Bedlined the lower door panels and part of the front fender. Welded up my exhaust. Fixed the wiring problem with my Aux headlights. Lastly I backed into a large rock and did a little rear bumper damage. Nothing some 2x4, a mallet and some bondo won't fix. Any suggestions about cheap/free/tool only mods?

Update
Doing some low cost clean up mods. Bedlined the door trim and install that over the fresh bed lined lower door halves. Pull the rear seat/trim pieces and bed lined the bed with three coats and removed some rust as well. Fixed my rear latch problem. Lastly I cleaned up the front fenders so they lay flush with the rest of the body. Here are some before and afters. More to come.
Any one have any othe ideas for cheap mods to clean up my jeep?

I want to put in two bucket seats instead of the bench. The bench had some huge battery acid holes from the previous owner and looked like crap... I am going to replace all four so they match and look halfway new. Next I want to build a switch panel and mount it somewhere. Not sure yet but it has to hold 6 switches plus a master. I have so many little projects just need the extra cash and time!
