Project "Slow Zombie" MJ
So I'm doing another a second zombie build. My first one is still going slow, here's the link for my Project "Slow Zombie" build : https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/pr...148027/index5/
I'm taking over this build from Idleservice : https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/88-comanche-162210/
This is a 1988 Jeep Comanche 2WD, I4 2.5L, AX-4 manual, 235 A/T, SWB and sun roof.
Over the past few months Idleservice and I have done a few things such as:
New alternator
New front brakes
New shocks all around
235/75R15 Winterforce tires on Jeep steelies
235/75R15 A/T tires on Jeep aluminum wheels
Used toolbox off a Ford Ranger
Tow mirrors off a 90s Ford F-150
Used front XJ grill painted black
Over the past few days I started to replace the rear drum brakes. I hate drums but I'll need them to be good for NYS inspection. New parking brake cable also replaced for inspection.
Took out the bench seat today. The last bolt stripped on me so I asked for help. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/str...ead-mj-168338/ The tool I used to remove the stripped bolt is awesome. With the bench seat out, it was time for a good vacuuming. Found a piece of the build sheet under the seat, that was depressing. Also tour the carpet out to inspect for rust. Found out the driver floor pan had been replaced badly. Passenger side isn't too bad, only a few small holes.
Some plan for the future:
Fix the rust on the inside.
Bedline the interior.
XJ bucket seat swap.
XJ door swap.
Bedline entire truck.
4WD conversion from a donor vehicle. (need to find one first)

Just got my new floor pans in the mail today. Only took 2 days from RockAuto. Found someone near me that will be able to weld the new floor in. After the floor is done, I'll be swapping in bucket seats from a 96 XJ Sport 4 door. Found out that Comanche seat brackets are different than any XJ seat bracket.

Not much will happen in June. Currently at guard annual training. Then helping a buddy move. So in late June more minor progress updates. Floors and seats should be done by then.

Floors have been done for about a week now. Costed me way too much money. But I feel better now. Seats are out of a Grand Cherokee. The bad part is that I have to sell it now :/
Taking offers on it.
Here's my most recent pictures of the Comanche:

No, I don't lick fish.
Maybe one day though... I'd love to startmakin' road trips in mine... there's a few things I wanna spruce up on her before I start braving the open road. I've taken her on trips 2-3 hours away but nothing crazy like that.

Yeah it sucks that it has to go. I'm moving to go to school soon and I can't figure out how to drive stick. Oh well. One of my current neighbors is interested in it. I had one person come look at it but said the body was too rough. Personally the dents don't bother me, it doesn't affect how it drives.
I actually had to throw away the original owners manual. It got soaked.
