Default Project Scarlett: taking my time and doing it right the first time

here is where im at now with the build:
Project Scarlett: taking my time and doing it right the first time-2015-12-23-17.37.09.jpg

stay tuned to see how i got there!

i had a 1995 2WD country that i bought mostly because i wanted something cooler to drive than me 2.0 jetta with a trans on the way out and alot of research lead me to buying a cherokee, i took it off road a couple times and decided i wanted a 4x4 so i looked around and eventually found this 96!

the 95 had:
-3"RC AAL lift
-worn BFG A/T 31's
-leaky..a lot of things
-703 neon injectors
-APN header(god i hate this thing!)
-country option with skids,OHC, Power seats/mirrors

heres the new xj!

yea thats right... another red xj....
WHO CARES!!!!!
i love red and almost no xjs here in south texas have red paint thats still intact

thats probably cause she's from washington state(CRAAAAAAAAAP)

tho surprisingly this xj is rust free!!!

she's completely bone stock check out she still has the stock stereo with all wiring 100% intact!!

and she's got 211,600 on the clock !!

stats:
27 spline C8.25
hp D30
np231
aw4
4.0L
power locks/windows

and super well maintained I've got all the service paperwork since the day she was born!!

the plan as of now:

4.5" inches of lift
33's
15x8 d windows with 4.00 back space
703's
apn header
rear tire carrier
rock sliders
zj tie rod
and a ton of other stuff you find out along the way

Red XJ FTW!

Sad to see you leave the 2wd community, my swap is semi on the way lol... i think red was the best factory color they came out with, seems to be the least resistant to fading from what ive seen.

Like the plan, you'll be looking like my XJ

not much happened today. i got new rain-x wiper blades and fluid. i love rain-x brand everything!!!!!

and i took the goofy roof rack off. its up for grabs if anyone wants it

any how heres my plan for lift:

front:
full 4.5 rustys coils
some homebrew sway bar disconnects courtesy of Dukie 564(still waiting on these to come in)
lower adjustable IRO control arms
(undecided about new adjustable uppers or keeping the stock arms)
IRO double sheer track bar for 3.5-7.5" of lift

Rear:
gonna run the same setup dukie 564 has for his rear

dakota bastard pack with slip plate greaseless paint and full length leaf liners
dakota shackles
hd offroad shackle relocation boxes

its all subject to change depending on what deals i can find. but i want to be ready for rides of march in marble falls next month so we'll see i guess

How much lift are the dakota springs supposed to give? I want a 3" bastard pack to run with my shackles and relo boxes

it depends on the combo of leaves you use

the shcke relocator I'm gonna run add 5/8 of lift
dakota sickles are 1 inch longer than stock xj shackles
and a properly built dakota bastard pack should be good for 3 inches of lift

read through this build he's running exactly what i want to run in the rear its where i got the info the reds just a coincidence.....
