36's and stock gears weren't working out very well so i got this Ford 8.8 out of an explorer from a junkyard near me.

Torched off all the mounts and cleaned up the tubes then brought it down to a mustang shop down the street to get the gears installed. They also replaced the outer axle bearings which were not included in the master kit. I lucked out with the rotors and gave em a cut on the brake lathe to give em a nice new surface. The calipers were also good. Not to bad for $150 and a 6 month warranty.

Got a solid diff cover for the 8.8. Also got the IRO swap kit. It comes all the shock mounts, spring perches, u bolts, and u bolt plates. Also comes with a truss to beef things up.

Next was the truss and shock mounts. Had to remove some material from the truss on the ends so the u bolts would fit and also had to cut out a little bit on the bottem of one of the holes so the vent tube would clear.

Fits peerfect. I also cleaned up the calipers and sprayed em with silver caliper paint. For the axle I used duplicolor bedliner.

I was thinking about it but that would be way down the road. I still have a ton of stuff I want to do first.
