Love to see these, and I'm planning on chronicling my 89's resurrection soonly. Picked mine up as an exchange for a tenant that left owing me dough. Boneyard motor swapped in, few small repairs, and I sold to the stepson for his first DD for exactly one chocolate-covered, chocolate-filled donut (exactly what I paid for my first car in 1982). Although he somewhat tried, he couldn't show this thing the love it deserved. He just picked up a different DD, so I bought it back yesterday. Mine's gonna be a slower project, as the wife and I drive over the road. Need to build a garage, too. HATE wrenching outside. BTW, I'm a little west, in the 231. I understand the Michigan rot. Good skill, and keep us updated. AJ
Oh mines a pretty slow project compared to some of the guys on here. Just can't find enough hours in a day. And it's soon to get harder, as im taking a career change. Couldn't pass up the pay increase. Downfall is hours for jeep will become even more limited. Hoping to get a few hours of work done tonight.
On a related note, got the driverside fame siffiner mostly burned in.

With that last post it gets me pretty caught up to where I am now, working on the frame side track bar bracket. Wondering if anyone thinks it will be okay to just weld it straight to the frame stiffener and bottom side of the rail?

Anyways got the right front frame stiffener burned in.

fabbed a mini truss to beef up the turdy a little. Made from 2x6 3/16ths wall. I'd say it's plenty stout enough for a 30...

Long tube mount? As in upper CA mount? I planned on that, and was debating on making lower skids. All I have for flat plate right now is 1/8th which would work but prefer to wait and get some 3/16th plate just as overkill. Unless you guys think 1/8 will be plenty for lower skids...

yeah meant the upper CA mount. and the 1/8 would do the trick if you can find 3/16 we also welded washers on the out sides of the holes to add a little bit more support there also on the LCA mounts

Makes sense. And thanks! Don't plan on keeping this axle long, but want it to handle anything I get to throw at it. This thing should take a beating and ask for more. Only running 33s on it so not to much stress.

Well got the mini truss fully welded, and started boxing in the upper CA mount, hopefully finishing that and the lower CA skids soon. Also ordering jcr steering box spacer so I can get the front end put back together for the last and final time. For now at least.

Made a little bit of progress tonight, got the axle all bolted in and most of the steering on. waiting on my jcr steering box spacer and hardware. Then she will be ready to roll around again.
