Sweet rig man! I'll have to look through your build later when I'm off work. Supercharged 4.0...holy shizzat!
Question for you, any tricks to the overhead console install? I have one to go in as well. I intend to use it for my CB radio and light switches mostly.

Thanks! Just need the wiring harness and temperature sensor. 100% plug-and-play

Finally looked at my Jeep after being annoyed and letting it sit for about 6 months.... Turns out that the death wobble was all because of the tires. And the groaning from under the hood that it developed is the power steering pump starting to give out (you can hear it in the beginning of this video)... So this Jeep is now currently rocking the 31s that came off of the diesel XJ.. Lol. Going to replace the pump in the morning.
So..... I might put the new suspension/long arms, 35s, and flares on this week.. Then do brakes and regear/diffs/axles later. And then do the frame stiffeners in a few months when the shop is built/finished.
I'm probably being WAYYYYY too optimistic here, but we'll see. I'm just glad to have my XJ back in action so I can stop borrowing my dad's...

Here's a little something I've been working on... Should be a much better alternative to an S-Pod or the like.
Bought this 16 relay board
And then bought a Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet. It has a quad core Atom processor, 2gb ram, a 64gb SSD, and full Windows 8 OS. Should be more than enough computing power to run the custom application I made and Microsoft Streets and Trips. I want to eventually evolve the app so that it has a more modern looking GUI and so I can control the relays with my phone, but this version will do for now until I figure out how to code in the newer version of Visual Basic. I still need to add more pages for winch control and other things like e-fan override, high idle, and whatever else I feel like controlling with it. 16 relays is a lot of relays to play with haha.

Won't be needing this stuff anymore.... Gunna tighten and lubricate the joints tomorrow and then go to one of my friend's house to have some welding done and completely finish the install. I am highly excited.

Probably going to have to park my Jeep for the winter and steal my dads XJ because my XJ has the 31" highway terrains that used to be on the diesel on it currently (MTRs are shot. Slipped/broken belts in all of them. Basically trash now since they cause death wobble above 30mph)... Plus my stock brakes are acting up, which I'm not too worried about because I'm replacing them with upgrades anyway when I build the axles. But I can't build the axles yet because there's a couple pieces I still need, plus the axle build is so in depth that it'll be impossible to start and finish before it starts snowing. Which means the 35s can't go on yet. Oh well. At least when the comes to do it all, I'll be doing it on a lift in a nice climate controlled shop. Finally xD
And we're already collecting parts for a new engine. My short block is pushing 190-195k, so its definitely time for a rebuild soonish. This is also an excuse to upgrade lol. I'm honestly surprised it's lasted this long and still runs great and has no major issues at all. It will be getting the block from racejeep for the cam retainer plate since the 98 block uses the spring retainer thing which is undesirable.
The 505 Performance forged pistons in these pictures are actually for racejeep, but the ones for this Jeep will look the same. Only the pin height will be different between the two sets of pistons.
I've been flamed before for using "unobtainium" in my build before, so that's a perfect excuse to use more haha.
Mini-stroker crank. Fairly difficult to obtain.
Eagle forged 0.025" longer than stock rods (iirc they were this much longer, don't quote me though). These are pretty much impossible to find. They are also 100g lighter than the rods going into racejeep. Not sure if that's really going to mean anything in the long run, but still worth noting.

So the 232 crank is 3.500" stroke vs stock 3.411"
the Eagle rods are 6.150" vs stock 6.125" and good to 600HP
the RaceTec pistons are +0.060", 1.555" pin height, 16cc dish, CR 9.25:1
all this gives +0.002" deck and with a 0.043" HG gives 0.041" Quench.
3.411" x 3.875"bore = 3956cc 3.96L Stock
3.411" x 3.935"bore = 4078cc 4.08L + 122cc 'Big Bore'
3.500" x 3.935"bore = 4185cc 4.19L + additional 106cc (+228cc over stock) 'Mini-Stroker'
3.895" x 3.905"bore = 4586cc 4.59L 'Stroker'

That moment when you refresh the reply page after you had just finished typing a whole book.... Let's try this again.
I forgot to mention that I picked up a Warn 8274 for next to nothing. I'd like to centrally mount it in the Jeep and have the cable exit in the front next to one of the frame rails. Basically the same idea some of the winch trucks in the Australian Winch Truck Challenge use. I'm also drooling over the air actuated drum free spool and dual motor conversions that Delta-Tek, Gigglepin 4x4, and DoubleWinch sell. Probably dreaming about getting anything from any of them, but I do have some money that I've been saving up burning a hole in my pocket.. Have to get 150' of AmSteel synthetic winch cable and a Factor 55 thimble for it at least.
Annnnddddd two of my friends are going to full hydro and hydro assist soon, so I'll probably get to drive both Jeeps and see which steering system I like best. Although, I'll probably end up tapping my box, modding my PS pump, and running an assist ram since full hydro has questionable road manners and street legality. I'm still trying to stay at least mostly street legal lol.
Anyway.. I'm in a state of limbo until winter is over and the shop is built, so I have plenty of time to do research/collect parts/read build threads on CF before the ball actually gets rolling. Sorry for the lack of pictures, but I've been lazy and the pics I do have are boring lol. I'm currently focusing on getting the diesel XJ back up and running so I can get my DD back.

Gunna try to bring this thread more or less up to date in one post with a bunch of pictures...
Got Thor some new shoes for the winter. 33x12.5 r15 Federal Couragia M/T on 15x10 D-window streetlocks. Trading my 40% tread MTRs (that made my Jeep deathwobble. Probably have broken or slipped belts) plus some cash for them. Currently running them unbalanced all around with the two bent rims on the rear axle. Gunna eventually get the two rims straightened and have my buddy balance them. Other than that, they run straight down the road, are quieter than the MTRs ever were, and have no noticeable wobbles through the steering wheel despite being unbalanced and made in Taiwan. Lol
Here's what were on Thor before just as rollers... 31x10.5 r15 Definity Dakota H/T that came with the diesel XJ. Definitely wasn't a fan of them at all. Can't wait to sell them to one of my buddies that just got a Cherokee lol.
And as a late Christmas present, I got Thor a Surface Pro 3. Was gunna use the Dell Venue 8 Pro that I posted about before, but I cracked the screen on that, replaced the digitizer but ended up getting one that was defective out of the box. So I got fed up and used the money I was saving for hydro assist and got the Surface instead. Don't really regret it though because the Surface is a tank. I'm perfectly fine with having to do a "poor mans" hydro assist and drill/tap my stock box and mod the pump.
The application I made still works. I want to eventually make a new version that has a 360 view of my Jeep and i just rotate it and tap on the lights to turn them on.... One day.. Lol. The full USB 3.0 port on this tablet is really nice. The docking station adds 4 more. Had to buy a new GPS receiver that was compatible with Windows 8, but now MS Streets & Trips works perfectly. I even figured out how to make the Surface control my GoPro with video preview.
Picked up an old Vector style lightbar for 27 bux. Been slowly restoring it. Threw a $30 Whelen strobe controller at it to get the strobes working (old one was fried). Just have a couple lenses left to restore and some wiring. Maybe I'll get this and the snowplow installed before it starts to snow... Haha. Doesn't look too bad and keeps up with the whole "recovery vehicle" theme that I'm going for.
Here's a pic of that Warn 8274 I got for 125bux. Came with a bumper that I sold to my buddy for 50bux. Planning on saving up for an air actuated freespool drum, dual motor conversion, and 150" of amsteel synthetic line. Pretty sure I said most of that in a previous post, but oh well.
Towed my dad's Jeep to Rausch Creek for the first time a little over a week ago and had a blast wheeling it. Big thanks to my buddy for getting a trailer and towing it there and back with his truck.
Flexing out on the comp course like a total poser haha
Crawling up Crawler Ridge. I'm sure there's a pun in there... Lol
