Digging your build thread though, keep up the good work!
Thanks! I'm in the same boat as you, those pics were my first time out 4-wheeling. I only know of a couple somewhat local spots, and plan on trying them as well. This was Cleghorn (off the 15 on the way to the high desert), Big Bear is on my list.

Thanks to you too! Always a work in progress. Forgot to mention that I got a fuse block similar to yours for my accessories. Just haven't had time to hook it up yet, it'll be soon though, hopefully.

What part of SoCal are you in? I'm originally from Riverside, live in Sacramento now though, bout 2 hours from the Rubicon.

The only very local spot I know of in my area is up to a glider point that most folks seem to hike up to. There are two trails to the top, one is very easy, the other is a bit intimidating for a newbie like myself.

I have not been to Cleghorn or Big Bear, but I'm sure Big Bear would be a lot of fun from the pictures I've seen.

Yes, BB looks like a lot of fun. I'm going to get some more experience (and sliders) before I attempt it though.

Not far at all, I pass through there twice a day.

Small update, but an important one! Got my rear passenger door open! It's been stuck shut with the outside button missing every since I bought it. Need to replace a part (haven't looked into it yet) but at least now it opens from the inside!

And here's the outside button and other misc broken pieces that were at the bottom of the door.

Found some 2"X1/2" stock laying around. Going ahead with my progressive (regressive?) TC drop, the 1/2" will replace the existing 3/4". These will be going in when I get my new motor/tranny mounts.
Also note the extra plate; that's for the TC skid plate that I hope to install someday.

Last day of the semester yesterday so the rush is on to get something accomplished in the next two weeks before the spring semester starts! Ordered an OEM type trans mount and BD rubber motor mounts. I probably should have used that money to buy the math book that I need . Oh well . At least now (soon) I'll be able to hit the trails again without my engine trying to escape through the hood.
As always, progress pics will follow.

Cleaning off the workbench today, I discovered some artifacts that belong to this project. I have some catching up to do. Also, not even pictured it the valve cover gasket that is in the very beginning of this thread. Must have slipped through the cracks.

Yesterday I washed my car and realized that in the 7 months that I've owned Jeep, I haven't taken a proper family photo. Here's the kids.

I have Monday off, and the wife has work, plans are to swap the motor/tranny mounts and whatever else I can do (headlights/harness?) as time allows.

Pass side motor mount was as shot out as a lot-lizard titty, but looked good compared to what was left of the drivers side!! Tranny mount was better that expected, but since I had already dropped the whopping $18 on a new one and had to swap in the smaller (1/2") TC drop, I figured I'd change it anyway. No pics of the tranny mount, or the steering wheel recentering process, really not much to see.

Have slightly more vibration at idle; not a bad vibration, more of a solid vibration. I can totally live with it.

Whats the bolt distance and hole size on your TCase drop plates? Also what length bolts did you get? Gonna be getting some 1/4 or 1/2" plate this weekend and making something similar.
