Been doing some research on jeep Cherokee no start fixes. Well I've replaced everything that causes no starts, except the map sensor. Which I believe was already on its way out before replacement judging by how the old motor ran in comparison to the symptoms of a bad map sensor. Gonna test fuel pressure and spark tomorrow to make sure it's getting the correct fuel and spark that it needs to roll over

Is the coil good? If the coil isn't getting a good charge to it bad spark will come out.

Brand new ignition coil and whole new distributor setup.. A friend of mine who has quite some experience with vehicles( automotive college instructor) is gonna come help me out when we're both free. He's thinking that the timing in the distributor might be off since its backfiring through the intake, which makes sense because it is getting spark and fuel. I read somewhere that bad vacuum lines can also cause this but I'm not sure on that. He said if it gets fuel and spark he can get it started so fingers crossed haha

In trying to get some cosmetic things done on the heep.. Like boxing off the bed sides with plate and finishing the paint on the last 2 wheels, I figured I'd test out the hi lift on some jack points for fun since I couldn't find my floor jack.. Well the replaced rockers and rear bumper hold their own weight or in this case the heeps weight! Quite happy with this as I didn't wanna have to find out they didn't out on the trail

It's usually much cleaner, but the heeps been in there for about a month and I wanna get that done more than clean lol. And ya get used to the space when it's the tiny garage or suuuuuper cold temps outside... I'd rather have a tiny heated garage

Working on plating the bed and getting rid of the holes that were there before. Gotta finish welding these in, blend the edges a lil with a grinder and probably some bondo to help round it and plate the bottom of the rear quarter panels. I'll need to grab another can of herculiner so I can line the bed and finish off the rear tailgate with liner

I'm planning for 2x6 rectangle at least 3/16" rocker replacement. It's worth the time/effort if you do it yourself.

I was gonna go with a 2x6 for mine but found a really good deal on 2x2 and used that braced to the frame. Holds up the weight of the heep so I'm happy with it. Still need to get the tube brush guards welded into the sliders and gotta add in frame stiffeners to help out a lil but I'm happy with it

See if you can get ahold of James Price(?) on Jeepn Alaska. He cut a set of unibody stiffeners for my real cheap and great quality. Dude works for a local steel yard and plasma cuts everything.

Starter went bad... Gonna pull it and test it to make sure it's the starter, but after today it won't even turn now. All I'm getting now is the first initial click from power being sent to the starter but not turning. Have a buddy that's coming over Thursday and said he's not leaving til she turns over.. Soooo it might be a long Thursday for me

Replaced that.. We tested spark and it was only intermitten rather than what a few thousand rpm should look like... But now the starters toast so I'll have to add that to the list lol
