Project Grizzly Bomber
ok so at the end of last summer I found a deal on a potential trail rig project....this thing will never see any use on the road, its kinda rusty and a little rough but it will see plenty of use around the farm and in the woods. Also I am by no means a fabricator or mechanic, just a farm kid with a tool box and a love of jeeps....
$300 got me this: 4.0/AW4/NP242/HP30/D35 packed into a '91 Laredo
2 days after I bought it I had to leave to go back to college.....but I ws back over Christmas break and went wheeling
as you can see stock height + bald tires = stuck
so when spring break came along I decided to get to work

So last week the build began with general maintenance
step 1: line repair (sorry no pics)
-new brake lines (stopping is good lol)
-new transmission cooler line (old one leaked like mad)
step 2: exhaust
-when i got it there was no cat or muffler so this beast roared (like a grizzly bear driving a B29)
-so new glasspack and tailpipe were in the works
sorry no pics of the tailpipe, but it sounds a thousand times better, you can hear the radio now

the next step was to gut the interior
first we removed the saggy headliner
then we got started on pulling the carpet

well we got tired of ripping out carpet before we got to the front floor pans so we got out the sawzall and decided to cut and fold what was left of the rear fenders
what do you guys think, should i cut and fold the rear quarters too? the front trim will come in may when i'm home again

that truck is a '39-41ish International KB5....the frame is a little rough and the motor is stuck but the cab is pretty solid except for the running boards....its one of my dad's projects....we are putting it on a '64 IH loadstar 1600 frame and we have an IH 392 V8 that we want to try to cram into it....if not the Green Diamond straight six will need a complete overhaul lol, all we lack is time and money

for now i got some 265/70/15" BFG Long Trail T/As on '88 cherokee turbine wheels to go on it, but what tires should i get for it later?
i'm gonna get a set of 15x8 cragar D-windows and 31x10.50x15 Wrangler Authorities or TSL's which should i get? the wranglers are like $35 cheaper per tire but the TSL's look sweet....
also is it worth throwing a lunchbox in the D35....max tire size will be 31x10.5....and i have a spare D35 already and i dont wanna spend the money on an axle swap to a C8.25 for 31's....will the D35 hold locked on 31's?
