Only reason why I'd go to a double sheer would be that they help flex? but don't think it's noticeable on short arms. I sprayed that wd 40 lithium grease on it. But the winter does have some surface rust on it.

Lithium grease is a good suggestion. I'm going to run this setup for a while, because I can't afford to upgrade it yet. Who knows, I might've just got a bad heim joint from the factory.

Napa has a tie rod end for the re1600 to get you by but it's like $45 . I would go double shear... I love my core 4x4 setup. It uses a currie jj. Sucker is beef! Also be careful with iro 3 link..the alignment is questionable.

As well as a questionable design, and much lose in clearance from the low hanging arms.

I'd done a bunch of research on long-arms.. and if I were going to do them I'd recommend Serious Offroad or TNT. But I've concluded you can get it done with 4.5" of lift and some adjustable short arms as well.
I have that Napa part number in my thread if you want that TRE for your RE1600.. that should keep you going!
Also I've had great luck with the heavy duty Green farm grease from Lucas. They sell it at OReillys.

Right on, good info on the IRO long arms, I'll check out Serious off road. I lubed up the heim joint, and it's no longer squeaking, but I'd still like to get a double shear eventually. Thanks for the help! See you on Saturday Tony!

It is a vinyl floor! It's a police package XJ, so it came with it. Thank you for the compliments. I'm taking it wheeling on Saturday, and I'll definitely post pics and updates of that.

I'm gonna throw a sprinkler under both of ours Sunday for a while, then spray away everything with a hose once it's all loosened up. Got the idea from a guy who rolls with the hardcore mud hole crowd.
