well, I just did a bunch of online window shopping and realized that I'm $847 farther from gears and lockers than I thought I was. Here's my list:

-JCR OTK steering kit
-JCR extended sway bar brackets
-Dirt Bound Offroad u-bolt spring plate bump stop mounts
-Dirt Bound Offroad rear bump stops
-Brown Dog motor mounts and hardware
-Oem trans mount
-Accel tune-up kit
-Rear hatch lift supports
-B&M trans cooler 70268
-Autometer single pillar gauge pod and trans temp gauge

All that plus what I already have going on should keep me busy for awhile. Too bad we just got like a foot and a half of snow today.

Ive heard good things about the IRO steering kit.. one of the guys I wheel with from the forum has it and loves it... might be worth looking into.

I have a very similar dent in my back door from snow wheeling lol.. in my case, I tried to climb an almost vertical 10' hill and slid sideways to where it was vertical and had to back through a good sized tree to get out.

Making good progress! Looks good!

I'm not really interested in the IRO because I want to stay away from the heims. I'm pretty much sold on the JCR kit.

I had the JCR UTK kit on my ZJ and had nothing but problems with it. Death wobble at stock height and unbelievable bump steer once I lifted the ZJ. I put my factory linkage back on and all of the handling issues were fixed.

I've heard the UTK kit gets more tie rod roll than the OTK kit. Did yours have the poly spacer with it? And the bump steer can't be blamed on the steering kit, especially when it uses the factory geometry.

I have a lot of things going through my head.

Frame plates, how I'm going to mount my front d rings, 2x6 steel rockers, axle trusses and gussets, etc, etc.

I think I'm going to pick up a HF 90a flux core welder and start playing with it. Winter and no garage has been driving me insane...

I used the poly spacer and had no roll issues, just crappy handling. The OTK may not have any problems for you, good luck.

I like having 4 seasons in my life, it keeps me sane. Currently getting a foot and a half dumped on us tonight.

Btw, 1,000 posts! Woohoo!

I hated my time stationed in LA. Waaaay to hot for my blood. No inspection here in MT. Seasons and snow are indeed awesome!

So all this snow and no jeep time has just got me thinkin about stuff.

Last week I looked at buying a 4cyl cherokee with 4.10s on it. I was gunna use the axles and part the rest but there wasn't much left to part out. The kid blew me off today and after some thought I decided it wasn't a great investment.

But I have $800 cash in my hand, so I need to spent it! I think I'm going to have my 4.56 gears installed with open diffs and buy a lunchbox for the front.

Reason for 4.56 and not 4.88 is because I bought the gears when I was planning on running 33s and I really don't want to go through the hassle of selling my 4.56s and buying 4.88s.

I think the front will be a better spot for my locker cause I have chromos for the front. We'll see how much **** I break (hopefully not the ring gear). If I don't like the locker I'll take it out.

Edit: but all of this will come after my previous list! Damn winter is killin me this year.

Took the Jeep for a little adventure to Mt Snow in Vermont today.

I drove an hour in the snow last night to Keene. That sucked, it's speed limit 50 most of the way and I couldn't see anything. Definitely a tense ride. Driving through VT this morning was beautiful and conditions could not have been any better at the mountain.

The Jeep definitely didn't like all the mountain roads out that way, I kept the trans in 3 the whole time and it was still downshifting into 2 at times. I could smell a burning smell and I thought it was my trans but it ended up being my phone charger melting.

No radio and dead phone equals 2 hours of singing to myself haha.

Tried to fix my radio with no success today.

I'm getting 12v power on the ignition wire, 3v on the constant wire, and 75 ohms resistance between the switched power and ground.

I tried 2 different radios and running a ground wire directly to the battery. Couldn't get either radio to power up.

Everything is so hacked behind my radio I really think the easiest solution is going to be rewire everything. I have a 4 channel amp that I want to wire my speakers up to anyway, so looks like I have a BIG audio wiring project in my future. As well as my headlight harness, and fog lights, and all kinds of junk. Damnit.

Edit: also pulled my motorcycle out today for the first time since fall and couldn't get that started. I wasn't too surprised about that though.
