Well its 2 days before i leave Miami...

I noticed when i picked up the trailer i was having troubles going in reverse and at least shifting into 1st gear, thought maybe it was something i was doing... Drove for a half day before i got worried, and asked my friend walt... he suggested to check a few things and we ( or he, lol) found out the slave cylinder went out... I was pissed!

I needed this jeep up and about and no problems... so lucky for me walt joined me pulling out the transmission, change the clutch, change the slave cylinder, and flywheel... put the transmission back on.... liquids.... installed everything back on and just like new, i even noticed it shifted better

Its not easy as it looks... need at least 2 people and it was even hard then, a floor jack, an even ground ( i stupidly did it on gravel -.-), and a lot of patience... especially when putting the transmission back ( or aligning it) i think i cursed more than i ever did when working on the jeep

So im half way on my trip. My friend i decided to stay at a hotel so we can get some rest... after that before we decided to take off... checked the liquids, topped off on gas, and i noticed that the strap holding the exhaust had fallen off or worse... burned off and as u can see it even started to burn some of the plastic off the gas tank cover.... so yea, i should have thought that could have happened, so w/e... found an auto parts and bought a clamp. good as new

Heres the jeep how it looked on the trip... driving at 75 mph; but it was actually 55 mph on my dodge stratus that my friend was driving... i need to find a way to change the speed on jeep so it actually shows what i drive

So ladies and gents... after being pretty busy with unpacking, working as a mechanic for CAT machinery which i gotta say its time consuming and waiting for a check so i can have spare cash....

I dedicated a day to change all liquids on the jeep.... Both front and rear differentials, oil change, power steering flush, cleaned the k&N air filter i have, and the t- case liquid...

All i need to do is the tranny...

Are you sure? 100%...

There's gotta be a number or different way to verify besides just the shifter

No that's something to be concerned about...idk if that was an old issue that was fixed before you got it...but did you see any metal particles when you flushed the fluid?

Great thread Batman, I'm enjoying the progress you've made to date. You make it look so easy! I don't know how to do half of the stuff you've mentioned.

keep up the good work!

So besides maintaining the jeep and its liquids i figured i give the jeep some TLC... took off the fenders so i can buff them and repaint them... took down the roof rack to remove rust, repaint, and hopefully wire up my fog lights... and i sanded, painted and set my sunvisor on the jeep

The visor looks good man!
It's a good contrast with the white and black on your truck...
Glad your keeping this thread going...
