Any updates?
Patiently waiting on how that db bumper would look...
I picked it up myself but still debating the tire carrier part...

oh wow. Yea i didn't realize how long it's been since I updated this.

Anyhoooo

I did get some more work done on the bumper. Got most of the tire carrier support arm figured out and welded up. Ran into the issue that the provided brass bushings don't actually fit into the hinge tube...we had to use a hole saw to make the tube ID large enough to fit them. And the holes in the brackets weren't large enough for the bolt to pass through. I love how their products look but the QC for the DIY kit is SERIOUSLY lacking. If anyone thinks they'll just be able to tack all the pieces together and it'll all fit perfect without cutting/drilling/grinding/swearing they're seriously in for a surprise.

Anyways...photos.

Carrier tabs welded on and interior bracing done:

Re-bored hinge tube and carrier arm stub:

I also FINALLY leveled the jeep. Installed new longer RRO shackles in the rear with poly bushings. I had to cut the old shackles off the truck as the bolts were fused to the sleeve...that was fun.

New Shackles and Poly bushings. I drilled and tapped them for grease zerks.

And I went wheeling again!

NAXJA NAC-Fest at Rausch Creek in PA. Had a great time camping and wheeling with old and new friends. Such a great group of people - highly recommend joining NAXJA if you are unfamiliar.

YURT!

Wheeled for the better part of the day Saturday on the NE property, greens, blues, and a couple black trails.

Almost rolled trying to climb a big ledge to the left of the maroon jeep...I came REALLY close - I need lockers if I'm going to attempt future ledges lol

Made it to around 3pm and then DISASTER. Lost my clutch pedal coming down a hill. Made it to the bottom fine and located a pin hole break in the outside bend of the plastic clutch pressure line between the master and slave cylinder. Tried unsuccessfully to patch the leak using JB Weld, a piece of hose, hose clamps, and a bunch of zip ties. Just too much pressure and a really bad spot.

Cranked the engine over while in gear and drove back to the parking lot without clutching. Got a trailer ride back to the campground. Called my buddy up that had a car hauler and he towed my *** home the next morning. Super sketchy but it worked ok.

Rather than replace the crappy plastic line with...another crappy plastic line. UPGRADE!

Ordered conversion fittings for the clutch master and slave cylinders from Advance Adapters that convert the stock rollpin o-ring fitting to a -3AN hose fitting. Then i ordered a new custom stainless braided PFTE line from Techna-Fit with 90* ends on it. I should be installing it this weekend and getting the jeep back on the road.
