Well, ive been on the forum for a few years now and i think its time i do a build. Ive always held back in the past due to being in school and having no money to do stuff. Well here I am now, just purchased my 4th XJ around the begining of December, 2013. A little about my Jeep. Its a '98 2 door 5 speed sport, 30/8.25, AX15, 231, 4.0, 176k on the clock. I bought it with the intentions of keeping it a stock dd, but you know how that goes. Pictures are kinda limited for now, but they will be up. And Black Wolf came from the Jeep being black, and my last name is Wolfe, yes its corny, and i know i dropped the "e"

The day i bought it. Had a friend nice enough to take me in his '96 2 door to pick it up.

Had it home for almost 2 weeks. Did alot of simple stuff such as plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Basically just gave it a good going over. Exhaust decided to fall off one night, and open cat sounds terrible. I solved this problem with a Flowmaster super 44 and 2.5 inch tailpipe. Things were going great until i was driving home from work last Thursday night when suddenly, Deer!

You would think this would have me a little upset, not really. The header panel was a terrible fitting aftermarket replacement from a previous accident, and the fenders were rusting out badly. Less than 24 hours later, i was back up and running thanks to a t-boned '97 who gave the header panel and fender as well as my '91 for giving its bumper

Plans involve a 3 inch lift and 32s. Parts I already have consist of:
-Zone 3 inch leaf packs
-RE 3 inch coils
-Extended stainless brake lines
-HD offroad no lift relocation boxes
-BDS 3/4 inch shackles
-Spartan locked 30, Open 8.25, 3.55 gears, when used with 32s will equal out to factory ratio with the 3.07 gears and a 235/75R15 tire
-Daystar poly trans mount
-Ruff Stuff unibody stiffeners
-JKS discos

Now for parts i have on order:
-Brown Dog poly motor mounts
-Putco headlight harness
-IRO upper and lower control arms
-IRO track bar
-IRO steering box spacer (or whatever you call that pos aluminum triangle)

I will be ordering my tires over the next week or two. Shocks will be purchased from a local shop once i can determine my exact compressed and extended lengths. Also have a 231 t-case with a full SYE if i find it necessary

Sweet! Good looking build so far.

So let me get this straight.. your current axles are geared @ 3.07 and the ones you're swapping in are 3.55s? Cool idea, basically regearing by using stock axles. Haha. Cool to have that option since you have a 5 speed.

My last name is also Wolf. Subscribed, by the way.

Yup the 5 speeds came with 3.07s stock, i daily drove my '91 5 speed for almost a year with 3.55s and it was great. I dont think there going to be permanent on the 2 door since the factory gearing kinda sucks but it will make due. I have a 44 rear that im still kinda open on what im going to do with it. Might go 4.10s or 4.56s down the road. Right now im trying to build it to where its a reliable dd with half way decent fuel mileage but i can still take it out on weekends and have fun

Nah the other 2 door is my friends he got about a year ago, traded a complete pos, ghetto rigged, body lifted Ranger for it. That 2 door is a '96, it needs some work but we've got it a ways from where it was when he got it. That 97 being parted was pretty jacked, i didnt see it in person but the pics looked bad. I guess i should probably update my build thread here, even though i havent done much of anything to it

Its time for another update. Been so busy with work lately that i haven't really had any time for the jeep. 60+ hour weeks sure get old. But while I have been at work, the brown truck has made several stops. Needless to say, stock control arms wont cut it so i let iron rock solve that issue. I ordered fixed lowers/adjustable uppers, but when I opened the box, I had a full set of adjustables! Also got my steering box spacer and track bar. The relocation boxes are Hd offroads no lift brackets. Im somewhat of a computer idiot so im still trying to figure out this whole attaching images thing. Please be patient lol

Your pic ain't working there, bud. I see what happened. After you upload it on Photobucket, it gives you 3 different copy/paste options on the right side. You want the middle one "Direct Link".
