Like normal good and bad news. Bad first since it is not horrible. Oil filter adaper is leaking. One of the last gaskets to replace.
Good news time. Gears are in! Me and my buddy knocked it out today. I only got 1 pic since my hands were dirty and busy the whole time. All I have to say is I am glad I didnt go 4.10s. It is pretty much perfect with the 3.73s and 31s. The tool I made for the 8.25 worked out great. Everything went smooth and the Jeep made it back home.

The ground is a bit wet today but I think I am still going to go out to one of the local trails to see what it can do. If everything looks like a mud slide waiting to happen, I dont think I will be going too far. I dont like mud.

there is a pump station that I service that is close to PAs capital that sits at the edge of the woods. There is a rugged looking trail that follows the long distance transmission lines way back into the forest. Everytime I'm there, I want to take the Jeep back in there. Looks like a moderate trail, tempted to drive the 35 minutes to see what is back there. From what I'm told, it's owned by the local power company. Wonder if they would mind.

There are a ton of trails like that around here. Most of them are just nice and smooth but since all this rain we have been getting, they are washed out. So it turns a once borning trail into a somewhat fun trail. Luckily for me, i have about 10 different trails to take all within about 5 minutes of my house.

sounds nice, we have one official trail that most people know by name, called "Gut Road". Its a little trail that runs along the Susquehanna River. I'd say it's about 2 miles long. The road itself is unpaved and a sedan could easily go down it. My father actually taught me how to drive on this road, pot hole diversion skills were acquired.
Anyways, the end of first two miles dump out on a rural road. This is where the sedans exit. You can keep going if you wish. That is where it gets more rugged, several people have died back there. Not because it's super challenging or anything. Mostly booze and stupidity. After it rains in some areas you can slide off the trail into the river. And if you and your buddy go down at 3AM and you lose him in the river, the next time you will see him is when his body is lapping against the Holtwood dam about 15 miles down river.
Just last year my buddy, who lives directly at the 2 mile point, had a couple teens knock on his door at around 12AM. The one boy got new MTs on his 4Runner and wanted to try it out. Whelp, it had just rained and the rig slid right into the river.

that being said the trails bark is worse than it's bite. Mostly creepy.
Those are some interesting stories for sure. If I ever get out your way, adding that trail to the go see list. The city I live in is known for one of the worst mass shootings (2 years ago at that) haha. Every town has its stories.
Just went out for a quick wheelin trip. Then it started raining so I went back home. Overall a success. Everything worked how it should. First 4wd trip done and over. Only couldnt make it up one hill. I will try again when the dirt is dry. I let my buddy with the renegade get a taste of driving a xj as well. Thats the only reason I have pictures haha.

To not help your jealously anymore, it only took me 15 min to get to the place where I took the pictures. Not from the start of the trail but from when I left the house.
