Default Opinions Please

Okay heres my deal. Been working all summer. This is my jeep. Ive got 31" Toyo Open Country's. They currently rub when i turn all the way and i plan on getting rims that that 8" wide and my stock ones now are only 7. So. what i need opinions on is.

1. Your opinion on black rims on my style of jeep
So far im looking at the Allied Mock's from les schwab or even just plain black rims.

2. Should i put fender flares on my jeep

3. Any other suggestions you think that would look good on my jeep.

Will they? because i'd like it to look clean but still good you know? Don't want serious rubbing.

you might have to do some minor trimming if you dont want it to rub when turning the wheel all the way

I like the stock rims. Just trim your fenders and move the flares up a bit.

Im thinking about getting bush wacker flares like all black with the bolts through out the the flare. I dont know much about them. Or trimming, but i have the tools. So what do i do. exactly. link please? i have a friend that can do it but i wanna know more about it.

Maybe its just me, but it looks like you need some longer lower control arms. Maybe not, could just be the pics but your front tires look awfully close to your flares though. Could be part of the reason for the rub? idk. Just my 2 pennies. Beautiful XJ by the way!

Thank you how long of control arms should i have? i have a 3.5 inch and i i put 31's on it.i plan on getting some flares with the bolts all the way around it but idk what kind or where to get them. im a newbie at this jeep stuff. want my jeep to look good but still be good you know?

No problem! I'm running a 3" Rough Country Lift, and I was having the same issue with my tires being too close (I'm also running 31x10.5s) I picked up a set of Tuff Country LCAs for a 4.5" lift and it pushed my axle forward around an inch and a half, giving me about 2 more inches in between the back of my tire and where the flare connects to the bottom of the quarter panel. My LCAs are nothing too fancy, but the difference is extremely noticeable, visually, as well as on and off road. (Smoother ride on the hwy, as well as more flex! )

Didn't the lift come with longer lower control arms? At 3.5" it should have. What lift did you get? You should not be rubbing with 31's and a 3.5" lift with stock rims.

Just get some soft 8's, they're cheap, and they look real nice and clean. If its not just the pictures making your tires look too far back in the wheel well, then get some new, longer LCA's. Your Jeep is so clean and shiny, and if you put on the rims / LCA's, you'll have plenty of room under there. I wouldn't put the bushwackers on until you wanted bigger tires, but thats just me, keep it clean lookin.
Man that is a very nice and clean and shiny XJ. Wish my paint looked like that

If you are getting new rims and are rubbing well when you get the rims just get more backspacing on them. It may not fix the whole problem but get 3/4 or a inch more backspacing should help the rubbing.

Right now i have a tuff country i think or rough. cant remember and its dark outside. i know its the same brand that les schwab deals. i believe. soft 8's? i know its a rim? buuuutttt picture? ill get some lower control arms. money isnt a problem here. what size should i get.

Tomorrow ill take some pictures and post em up. i wasnt expecting so much response. my control arms say ez ride if that helps at all

theres a pic of the Cragar Soft 8s for ya! And I'm pretty sure that EZ ride is tuff country. Again, thats a beautiful XJ, your lift and tire combo is really nice! Those the Toyo MTs?

EDIT: Haha I should have looked at the first picture of the tires! How do those work for you?

they work amazing... alot of people say their bad but they are more quiet than my all terrain yokohamas i had. theyre spendy but i like em. i live in washington.. so lots of rain and ice and ****. but they work good. great grip

i like those rims. do they make em darker?
