I guess not. lol
I could have drained it where it was, but all the oil would have gone on top of the cross member. It probably would have drained down through the holes, but it would have made a mess.

BTW all, is it a problem to have these hood vents I have installed when it rains out?
I do drive it sometimes when it is raining out and have had no issue.
Also snow collects under them in the winter, but seams to melt right away. lol

I have made covers for them that I could install for onroad use but was too lazy to put them back on. lol
I really don't need the cooling when driving on the street, more for off road.
so should I think about using my covers more or is it just not needed?
with the covers on the water channels to the corners.

thanks

all i know is that when i offroad, water gets everywhere in the engine bay, and ive washed my engine with simple green, then hosed it off with water, then it started right up...so my guess would be water doesnt hurt it at all...but dont take my work because i dont have vents

I would just keep those drip pans on all the time and the little water that gets part those wont be an issue....and to my expierence the only 2 things you have to worry about water/mud wise is the alternator and TPS....I go thru those like none other

Going to be going to Old Florida Road in MA as well as MA Bell trail this weekend camping trip. (check youtube for other peoples vids)
Finally I will be able to see how well my Jeep really does.
There are ledges over 3' tall and some really deep water.
I still do not have a locker, but as money comes my way i will be completing my Ford 8.8 rear end. (post pics when i do of course.)
I am trying to get some money together so i am trying to sell my roof rack as well as my old Warn T-case skid plate on another site.

but the roof rack still looks cool, I just never use it! haha
so its gotta go, but here is a pic of it installed.

my suggestion: take the rain guards off the hood vents go buy a big tube of diaelectric grease and unplug all your connectors and gop it in all of them and even around the base of your distributor cap and in all the plug wires and just all sensor connectors and stuff that will protect everything...and i want to go to MA Bell so bad but my buddies who usually go are so busy they can't go (7" lifted '98 ZJ, 4-5" lifted Toyota T-100, and a 4.5" lifted '00 XJ) and they said they wouldn't bring me until i was lifted with tires at least and i'm ready...but looking forward to the pics

Yeah thanks bro I already decided ditch my covers.
I just wanted to see what ya'll had to say about it. lol
I will definitely be getting some dielectric grease cause I know that stuff is the best. (I work with electronics)
so its a must, don't know why I never did it before.
so thanks.
As for OFR and Ma Bell, I am being told 33's min and lockers help. But 35's and lockers are the way to go over some of the ledges.
But. I am fine with getting a yank or stacking some rocks.
I have watched so many Youtube videos on those places I know what to expect at least. lol

P.S. you should come, Saturday we will be at OFR at 9:00 AM and Sunday at Ma Bell around 10 AM
Also I do not have a distributor cap on my 01 XJ.
Your friends rigs sound capable.
