Default My Mall Crawler

I recently got another xj (my 4th jeep and first 4wd xj) It is a White 2001 Ex TVA Jeep so it basically has the "Police Package" (ext idle, vinyl floors, lots o holes in the plastic) 4.0, auto, np242, 30/35 combo, 137k, 3 skids, tow package, but no tow hooks. It has a 2in bb (spacers, shackles) and is sitting on 235/75 r15 tires on 15in Ultra Motorsports Rogue 1575 wheels. Instead of a "build" this will be more of me just trying to make the Jeep as comfortable as i can.

Now you might ask why not build it up, after all if you know me you know that i've been wanting to do that for years and i finally have a good starting point. My answer, 20,000 miles and 600+ mile roadtrips. in the next 2 years or so im going to be putting a whole lot of miles on this rig (daily commute of almost 50 miles plus me hopefully going back to school soon) and i need to be able to safely and comfortably drive this thing long distances.

Enough of my blabbering on, here are some pictures of it.

To get this thing Comfortable (to me) i need to get rid of the BB and put some real springs in it. along with the Shackle in back, which the po installed, i put some underleaf Helper springs. I did so because i frlt that the rear was way too soft, i had crazy body roll, and a few other little things like i actually tow a trailer with the jeep. I got a really good quote from a Zone offroad vendor for the 3in Springs front and rear for about what i was looking at for a pair of leaf springs so i might go that route.

Another big thing for me is the stock cassette player and only having 2 working speakers. I want to replace em all but i cant decide if i want to go with a Stock CD unit modded to have an aux input (from ebay) or an aftermarket unit. I listen to country, Rock, classical...basically anything besides the "real" rap, i want to understand what the artist is saying. with the Headunit, if i go aftermarket, i want it to light up green to go with the rest of the interior lights and my "theme" (more on that later)

The rear cubby hole has been hacked up so i need to do something about that, im not really wanting to put in a sub but i might...

This isnt the real police package so it might not have everything but so far what ive found that it has special is the vinyl flooring, very basic interior, the ext idle button, aux transmission cooler, and various holes in the trim.

Im tempted to put in a set of zj front seats but im worried about fitment, not of the seats but of me. I am 6ft 2 and about 250-260lbs. I do think that somebody replaced the stock seats though because they look nearly perfect.

I cant sleep and for some reason i got it into my head that the bushwacker flat flares look really good but what would make em look better (and cheaper) is to just buy the front pair.... a little searching on google and i come across this

i like it. Maybe once i get my suspension and stuff sorted out i can save up for a pair.

Right now im looking at spending-

suspension $350
Radio/speakers $200
Exhaust $150
fluids and such $75

now only if i wasn't making minimum wage...

And i have a bad habit of letting others name my vehicles, lemme know if yall think of anything good!

Did some fooling around on the jeep and the blazers. Couldnt figure out why the horn isnt working, i need to figure out the fuses for them, and I found out that all of my speakers work... they are just shorted out somewhere around the door which explains a lot to me. Alos, the thing doesnt flex.... pictures as soon as i can find my cord (i know somebody is reading this.)

the only things that i can think of are GONE exterior trim, rear "mat", extra lights (might have been on there in one or the places) and the front plate holder. then it obviously doesnt have the steel wheels but it has one with an almost full size spare.

it has the 30/35 with a limited slip in the rear but it fells like it has a good bit of power so if it still has the 3.55's id like to see it a bit lower on bigger tires.

Edit: i also have found some wiring 'splicing' from what im guessing is lights and stuff and a couple of brackets for rear window lights at the top that i would really like to find a use for...
