Really like what you did with the side moldings that looks great good work! Mine need the same kind of fix where did you get the Bedliner spray? Or can you just get it anywhere?
Thanks good work I know what it's like doing little projects to save some money

Just an update on the roof rack...
I did all of the cutting this week. I started with four 24 ft sticks and now I just have to cut a few more angles for the corners. The mig welder at my school broke so now I am just waiting for the new one to come in (hopefully by monday!)
Sorry for the bad quality cell phone pics...
here is part of it laid out
my friends decided to have a little fun while i was working...

Your in a damn good spot as far as the LP goes...lol. Your close to Rocks and Valleys in Midland, The Mounds near Flint, and the many many trails around West Branch, Grayling, and Mio.

More (slow) progress on the roof rack. I'm ready to start welding it all together now! The new mig welder finally came in so I'll be able to start it soon. I'm going to be gone for the next 3 days though, because I'm a camp counselor for an elementary school trip. It really sucks having to do a project based around other peoples schedules and in 50 minute class periods at school.

Just another update...
I haven't made too much progress on anything. I tacked the base of the rack together last week, but someone at school kicked it before i got a chance to actually lay some beads on it. My metal shop teacher is pretty unreliable and he hasn't been available after school for me to get any work done. I've given up on trying to get it done by May 1st as well. I feel that it's better to take my time and make a quality rack instead of rushing and ending up with crap.
Anyway, i'm considering buying my own welder and just doing the whole project at home instead. So if you're selling a decent stick or mig welder, let me know!

I've been real busy with school the last few weeks so I haven't been up to much jeep stuff. I'm just takin it slow and having fun with it though
this isn't related to my build, but i'm in a blacksmithing club at school and i built a forge recently. i fired it up and made my first knife this weekend!

I also made a false bottom for my center console. I'm planning on going doorless this summer and needed a place to put some basic/small things like my radio face plate that could easily be stolen. I'm also planning on making a larger lock box for the back. Here's how it looks...
I started by grinding off all the plastic tabs on the inside of the console tray
then i was left with this, which looked rough
so I decided to cover it with some leftover fabric from my headliner replacement
then I cut a piece of plywood to the right size and covered it with fabric. this sits on the little ledge that the console tray comes with. I also had to come up with a way to open it. I usually believe that simpler is better, so I just put two half inch squares of wood on the ledge so that the false bottom can be pushed down on one side, lifting up the other side.
Here's the final product...
with the bottom opened
and when it's full of stuff
