Thanks, I ended up going with an RE 3 1/2" lift and so far so good. Good luck with your build also.

Found some time at lunch to take the Jeep out on the highway and see how it rode at interstate speeds. Very happy and no death wobble. The T-drop seems to have also eliminated the vibration I was getting and the rear end has settled a little bit.

When I put the Ecco rims and 31's on I kept one of my original wheels and 235 tires as a spare since I only had a temp spare. Had to relocated the disk changer but it fit find as a backup, didn't hit the top speaker and clears the rear door ok. Now I just need to find someone who wants a free donut..

Also replaced the worn out front floor mats with some Advance Auto "Jeep Specials"..had a $5 off coupon too

That's about it for now -have a few other things planned -once I'm not broke anymore..

Did you sell the old wheels yet? Looking for a spare, in RTP area.

I wish I had known, I kept one of the wheels and tires (@30% tread left but fine for a spare since I run 31's) and let the tire dealer keep the others since I didn't have a place to keep em and figured most people wouldn't want 3 basic XJ wheels and fairly worn out tires.

..now that I think about it though...and after seeing that I could fit one in the stock carrier mount without any mods,...rear seat hinge relocation..etc..and they can clear the upper speaker bar, I wish I had kept them just to give to folks on here that might want a backup tire running 31's or 32".

They are large enough to work as a temp spare in most conditions (assuming you're not locked) without the need for a roof rack carrier or special mods/rear bumper setup.

I will call the tire guy in the morning just on the off chance he still has at least one and if they do I'll pick one up for you and no charge assuming you pick it up- will post back if he does.

Also just to clarify, when I mentioned relocating the disc changer - the former owner added a 6 disc Pioneer CD changer and mounted it right behind the spare tire carrier which was a problem putting a full size spare in.

It actually works and I relocated it under the back seat..but it uses an FM Modulator and after finding the online manual and cycling through all available channels in my FM radio area..the quality sucks - I guess at least I have an extra connection running back under my rear seat - although it doesn't hook into the radio so not sure what good it will do me..

That would be a good deed greatly appreciated. Have not yet been to the pic-a-part yet to look for one, but that will happen soon for some interior trim bits.

I asked cuz I have 235's. Would probably replace the tire soon enough to put it in rotation, but would be nice to have a useable spare already attached.

Next mod is on it's way, a G2 aluminum/black rear diff cover for my 8.25 and a lubelocker gasket - should make the rear end pop too since it sits about 4 1/2" higher than stock with the RE lift and new leaf springs.

Decided to do aluminum G2 covers with the 8.25 rear and 30 Front..went with Redline Shockproof in both.

Yep, improve the looks and is functional too - the G2 8.25 rear even has a level plug. I hope the aluminum will help the diffs a lil cooler when driving on the beach also.

Replaced the transfer case fluid so anything liquid is clean and new on the ole gal. Also ordered a set of clean 784 injectors from a member here so those will be swapped out next.

Hot here today and sweating before I even had my tools together from the garage late this morning, so swap is put off for a cooler day or when I can tackle this in the morning or late afternoon.

On a side note, as a long as I'm doing this it might be a good time to also pull the TB and clean that up too along with the fuel rail.

..getting there

784s are in and running great. Still getting a little bit of vibration with the t-case drop so I might look into an HD SYE setup as the next big mod - probably this fall. I have the NP231 transfer case.

Looking good, I'm kinda in the same boat as you now. The transfer case drop only did so much. SYE and drive shaft would probably do us both good!
