Default My 98' Indigo Build

I figured I would start a build thread since I plan on doing a bit a work this rig. I picked her about 2 months ago with 200K on her.

When I got her she was having an overheating issue. I ended up replacing the thermostat (twice), new radiator, new water pump. I thought everything was fixed, but I was sadly wrong. The heater core went bad, so it was time to pull the dash and replace the heater core. While I was in there I replaced the Evap core, blower motor and dryer.

Next up was new front pads and rotors, sway bar endlinks, transfer case fluid change.

After that I pulled the saggy headliner down and replaced it with some mossy oak camo fabric. I will get a pic up tomorrow when the light is better.

At the current moment, I'm hunting down a strange noise from transmission/T case. Ill make sure to keep this updated with picture

Finally took a few pictures of the headliner. I would highly recommend having a second set of hands to help lay on the new liner. I had one spot that I messed up on, but the camo hides the spot well. I also ordered a new set of rear speakers that will be here this weekend.

The lift is finally starting to come together! No pictures of anything because it's still all boxed up.

Here's a list of what I have ready to go:
RE 5.5" coils
RE 3.5" full leafs
RE 1.5" shackles
RE Adjustable track bar
RE u-bolts
RC Long Arm upgrade
RC extended front and rear brake lines
JKS Quick Disconnects
IRO HD solid steel tie rod
Advanced Adapters SYE

Still need to pic shocks

Here's the few pics I do have.

So I sold the RC long arm kit before I started that actually build. I ended up purchasing the B. Lee's 3 link. I wanted more flex for my setup.

With much advice from members on here, I installed a set a HD Offroad frame stiffeners before the lift goes on. This is probably the longest I've had an entire lift just sitting in my basement. I'm looking to install everything within the next 2 weeks. Starting to spray everything down now with penetrating oil. I'll make sure to get lots of pics as I go.

Stay tuned...

Thanks man.

I'm wondering if the 4.5" coils will be to low with the rear setup? I'm not trying to get the rake look.

brand new RE coils are known for giving out 1" more lift than advertised at the beginning. It ll eventually settle down.

On my crawler I have 4.5 RE coils in the front with 3" leaf packs, 1.5" shackles and drop relocation brackets on the rear. It evened out.

They are pretty beefy and I can see why everyone does this mod first.

Did you notice any difference in handling or ride?

It's funny that you ask. I did notice that it takes turns much tighter. I thought it was just me, but my wife said the same thing. My shocks are toast, so I might notice a difference in ride quality once the new ones go on. I highly recommend doing this if you're on the fence about it.
