Also I painted it flat black for the time being just to make it one solid color, I will go back and do the body work and paint it proper once I get settled into my new house in May

So with my J-bolts for gas tank are shot and I can't get the tank to secure tight enough so I figured I would try these for 2.50$ rather than buying the 30$ ones.
Also that's the paint I used, I actually had my air tools boxed up to ship to my new house so I just thinned the paint and used my electric sprayer. I'm gonna wet sand it a bit but it's not a bad 20 footer paint job

you have a pic of the flat black paint job?
I know a guy that flat black rattle can'd his F-150 and it actually looked better than i thought it would.
Be nice to see this thing 'done'. MJs really are cool and this one has the makings of a sweet sweet ride.
are you going to try and lower the rear more, or just raise the front a bit to even it out?

nice!
also, I hear you, up in ohio I'm used to winter not letting go, but this winter has been awful. I'm fine with a cold snowy winter but it keeps getting like 70 degrees, then goes back to "normal" temp and it really messes with you.

Ohio? I'm sorry to hear that 😂 I'm originally from Michigan so I still have a bitterness for your state. Just kidding but yea I just spoke to my dad he's up in the mitten still and said they just got power back last night they lost it last Tuesday the power company said it was the biggest outage in history. The cold the salt and the snow can definitely take its toll on the thin sheet metal these things are made of. I've had my fair share of rocker panel rotted XJs

You guys need to let this Toledo thing go!!
In all seriousness, i once asked some bikers from MI that were stopped at a Sheetz, if "people in MI cheer for the buckeyes" and they all laughed at me. Im still not sure if its a legit thing or just some form of being contrary, but a surprising amount of people here actually cheer for the wolverines every time.
As a disclaimer i dont care for football so i've nothing in it
In any case, i hear you on those rotted floors! My 98 has pretty solid metal all around, and after the 96's floors started to get reaaaally bad after a few winters with me..
well, im considering spraying the whole underside with a cheap flat black spray paint

I've been hard pressed to find anyone in Ohio that even wants to hear "Wolverines". Although, maybe I'm biased to the situation considering I'm a life long Michigander, and a die hard sports/Michigan fan.
Anyway... sorry to stink up the PO's build!

Well I got it on the road only to have the tranny start pissing from the front so I've dropped the tranny. Now I can't get it to line up at all I have the top bolts in but the bottom won't come close.
In the mean time I put an XJ rear sound bar in the roof

Also i went to replace the rear diff fluid....
Then I realized the yoke had tons of play, well there wasn't even a crush sleeve so I ordered one and finally got that all fixed up
