Jeep is looking good... I rode with the rear lift for a week or so on mine. The front lift was just as much a pain as the back, but with more parts. If I could do it again, I think I could knock the entire front and back lift in a weekend for sure. If I didn't screw with the upper control arms, and had new bolts on hand for the rear leaf mounts, I could knock out the lift in a day. My experience was more like three weekends though.

I wish my paint was in as good a condition as yours. I searched really heavy for a month for one in that condition, but eventually it felt like I was hunting unicorns.

I'd love to use your pictures to help advertise my lights... I want to put a gallery of sorts on the website I'm building.

If you have any feedback... doesn't have to be complaints... just stuff that could be improved, let me know. I want to make custom panel lights for the vanity mirrors out of the stuff that's used for cell phone backlight. I want to eventually (maybe a year from now) have dome and cargo lights made that are brighter and with a more centered (less blue) color profile.
My original idea was that I was going to knock the lift out in a weekend. Funny now that I think about it. My Jeep has been sitting on the driveway for about a month now since I started working on the valve cover. The learning curve has been steep, and I've been busy with work and life. It has also been difficult trying to coordinate a day and time for a second person to come help me out who is more knowledgeable than me.

Feel free to use my pictures! I can also email you more if you'd like. And let me know if you'd like me to take another one at a specific angle or of a specific light. As you mentioned the lights do have a slight blue profile to them. Not enough to bother me though. I think the vanity mirror lights could probably be a little less bright. I felt kinda blinded by them in the dark, but that could just be me. I definitely need to adjust to the interior lighting change. Would the cell phone backlight type lights be less bright?

Did your shackle angle ever change? or did you buy the relocating brackets?

No, I'm planning on buying relocation brackets after I'm all done. I want to see how the ride is before and after.

I spent today working on the front lift with my fiancée's stepdad. Extended brake lines, lower control arms, and holes drilled for the bump stops are done.

We were unable to get one of the upper control arm bushings out at the axle. The passenger side one came out easily. The driver side bushing is being a PITA.

Any tips on getting it out? I've come across a bunch of ways, but I don't have most of the tools needed. I even went to AutoZone and rented a ball joint press, but the included cups were either too small or too big. We couldn't get it to work. Any of you Vegas guys have a solution and could possibly lend a hand?

Also, I didn't realize that the RE lift kit didn't come with new upper control arm bushings at the axle, so I need to buy some. Any recommendations, or are the bushings from AutoZone good to go?

Why did you find the need to replace the bushings anyway? They look fine. I'd use heat and the ball joint press. Even the smaller cup and the bushing should help push the metal housing out, that's what happened when I replaced mine.

The bushings aren't in good condition. Plus, I didn't want to install new upper control arms and use old bushings. New bushings seemed the smarter choice.

Makes sense. I used rukse poly bushings when I replaced mine and just needed to take out the rubber bushing and reuse the metal housing.

I have some balljoint presses/pullers and a slide hammer kit that might help with that bushing.

Same here. Even then it didn't go easy. On the bright side, air hammers are pretty cheap. I bought one just for this. I learned that oiling the tool is important.

I watched that BleepinJeep guy on YouTube use one to get the bushing out, and I immediately realized I need more tools. I ordered an air hammer and Moog bushings off Amazon last night.

Glad you got an airhammer. I have a super nice snap-on air hammer that I use about twice a week at work! Excellent investment and will aid in your bushing fiasco! Killer build btw! Love what you are doing with the jeep!

Thanks! I'm definitely looking forward to trying the air hammer out. I'll be using someone else's compressor, but while we are on the topic, what air compressors do you guys recommend? I plan to get my own sometime soon, depending on the price. Any particular brands or models to check out?

To be honest, I would check out the harbor freight compressors. I have one and a few of my buddies have them for home use. Been working fantastically! Best bang for the buck imo

I have a small one, 1/3hp at 2 or 3 gallon. I'd recommend bigger. I could relax and drink a beer between tank refills. And the tank needs refilled a lot! It's better than nothing of course, but it's just another thing on my list now.
